fantasy premier league team selection GW3 – early transfers for the FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s my fantasy premier league team selection GW3 article where after much mulling over I’ve decided to go against my general policy of early transfers and have made 2 tonight to avoid the possibility of being priced out of them.

GW2 review

I went into alot of detail in my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article about GW2 so I won’t repeat that.  Here’s the points and the basic stats:

GW2 points: 46 (FPL average 41) Total points 130, Gameweek rank 1,786k, Overall Rank: 581k, green arrow 88k, Team Value: £100.1m

Transfers procrastination part 2

Again I went through my thought process and options in my early team thoughts article so as I said above I won’t go into it much further although some additional ramblings follow the graphic..

Here are the transfers.

Perez to Martial and Wilson to Pukki.

According to the price change site FPL statistics it looks like Perez will go down in price tonight which would mean I couldn’t do the transfers if I didn’t do them tonight

Here’s how the transfers look

Various post procrastination ramblings

I didn’t want to do the transfers today but I would have been priced out so after alot of procrastination I went ahead with them.  The main competition for the transfer was De Bruyne.  However getting both in without selling Salah is difficult and I think Martial is someone who is good value

De Bruyne has been a consistent 5.5 PPG ish player over the last few seasons (apart from the negative aberration last season).  Laporte was 5.2 PPG last season.  Do I want to pay £9.6m for someone I’m never going to captain when I have Sterling from the same team is the question that’s been bugging me.  I will definitely get 3 City players but I may just get another defender.

Pukki has definitely got off to a good start with good shot volumes, xG and goals even against Liverpool.  Weirdly the bookies also really like him which I can’t quite get my head around.  It’s definitely a step in to the unknown that’s for sure.  However Barnes and Wood have 2 tricky fixtures next.  Jota was also a possibility and meant I could have waited until Friday to do the transfers.  However I just wasn’t sure about him.  It doesn’t feel great doing the transfers early and before I’ve finished my player rankings but on balance I felt it was better to do it than miss out

I did really consider just doing Siggy to Martial so I could do Wilson to Haller for the Norwich and Villa matches but I backed out of it.  Haller looks like he’ll be a star but that would mean deferring the 2 game known Pukki in the PL to an unknown in the PL apart from 1 game v City when he may as well have sat in the dugout.

I do have a few issues in the squad and only Dendoncker as a sub with Rico being dropped last week.  Digne was at least pictured in training.  Hopefully Ings left out was due to the opposition formation adjustment and Zinchenko starts after his cramp.  Hopefully Dendoncker is all the cover needed.

Captain

I obviously haven’t done a captain article as yet but the FFGeek poll favours Sterling over Kane but not by much so Sterling it will be.  Sterling at Bournemouth vs Salah home to Arsenal seems the natural choice in any case.

Lineup issues

None really.  Pretty straightforward

That’s it.  Plenty more articles to come so I won’t do a parting type good luck just yet.
