Introduction

Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 4 seasons overall ranks are 17k, 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW33 review

GW33 points 61 (FPL average 36) Total points 2,161, Overall Rank: 14k, green arrow 4k.  Team Value: £103.9m

I’ve now used all my chips

Here’s the points:

So 61 points for a 4k green arrow and an overall rank up to 14k

Although there was only the minimum you’d like in 4 players returning a goal or assist or clean sheet there was Iheanacho with 12, two 9 pointers and an 8 which ended up enough for a green arrow.

Shaw’s 8 points was probably the biggest negative points against me.

Transfer thoughts

2 free transfers and £0.9m in the bank.

I went into detail in my early thoughts on the FFGeek team article about the potential DGW35 and BGW36 and how my team was structured to fit that and what my ongoing transfers would be.

The fixtures dates have been announced but it is unclear how it will affect the FPL gameweeks as yet

This week I’ve wanted to put an Everton defender into the team as they potentially have a DGW35 and a game in the potential Blank 36 if that’s how it pans out. The Everton v Aston Villa fixture has to be rearranged so it’s hard to see that some sort of double for Everton won’t materialise.

In looking at an Everton defender, I can only afford Holgate or Coleman though. To be honest I’m nervous about gametime for both. Coleman is the better attacking option and the captain when he starts but he does seem to come on as a sub and has done in 2 of the last 5 games and 7 times in the PL this season compared to 13 starts. I don’t know exactly why but it definitely makes me nervous. I do really like Coleman though from an attacking point of view if you can take that risk.

Holgate has started the last 13 but he has that James Justin/ Pascal Struijk thing about him where injuries to others just seem to fall nicely for him and therefore he continues to start and you can’t help but feel that as soon as everyone is healthy he’ll just end up on the bench.

If I had the cash I would go for Digne but I’m no where near that.

I’m going to go for Holgate although it really is a toss up

So the transfer is Phillips out and Holgate in

Now it’s worth saying that Rudiger is injured but I’m going to hold on until there’s more news as he’s a pretty core part of my FPL team.

Luiz is also close to being back which could upset Holdings place so It’s all going on. However I’m sticking with the transfer and hoping for the best.

I still will have 2 for next week

Lineup issues

I normally decide my lineup using either/and/or the bookies odds for goalscoring v Clean sheets and Joseph Crilleys transfer planner

Those in scope are Veltman, Vydra, Holgate, Holding and Jota

Jota is a seperate case. In the game v Newcastle it was the first time that Klopp played all 4 attackers of Jota, Salah, Mane and Firmino. Jota was subbed off at 57 minutes which says that it wasn’t exactly a resounding success. I can see him going back to 3 mids and given the opposition Jota could easily be the fall guy. I’m going to ignore that.

As for Rudiger I’m going to stick him in my FPL teams lineup just in case there’s some miracle recovery although the chances are slimmer than slim.

The Bookies have Holgate and Jota playing with Holding Veltman and Vydra as the bench order

Joe’s planner has Holding and Jota playing with Veltman, Holgate and Vydra as the bench order

Here’s how Joes planner looks

I’ve goone with the bookie this season so I’m going to stick with it for now even though Joes Planner had a good bench picking order record last season

Captain Choice

The FFGeek captain poll has Kane way out in front as does the other main poll. He also seems fit so I’m going for Kane. I’m going Son as vice

Here’s the lineup for GW34

Good luck everyone!
