It takes some doing to plan for a double gameweek and then get a red arrow without even making the average score. Not best pleasing that’s for sure. Anyway no point in looking back, time to move forward
TRANSFERS
What a joyful situation. I’m planning on wildcarding next week so this week I can make any transfer I want for 1 week only and I’ve got a bundle of cash in the bank with which to do it.
Negredo and Siggy were the obvious targets. There were no real standout midfield targets. Chelsea are away to Everton and I already have Dele Alli so it seemed to be a bit much to go 3 Spurs against Arsenal. Liverpool are away to Watford and I didn’t think about following the bookies team in putting Firmino in but that didn’t really appeal.
I then focused on the Forwards. I didn’t have the money for Aguero which is probably just as well with him playing on Thursday. Gabbiadini stood out as having the fixture and at least some form. He was also looking like a potential captain option and has had a good rest since playing on Monday. Hull are also terrible away which helped the decision. I was going to wait until I did the captain article tomorrow but Gabbiadini is going up tonight and Negredo is going down so I decided to go with it. I have been burned by doing transfers to avoid price rises but sometimes you’re just not going to learn.

TEAM SELECTION
A real brutal week lies ahead for my defence. Valencia will be rested unquestionably. Everton and Chelsea play each other and it certainly doesn’t have a 0-0 ring to it. Watford have Liverpool at home and WBA play Leicester. Things are so bad that I’ve reverted to the double WBA defence. It’s let me down 100% of the time except when it went to Man Utd. Obviously I had both on the bench.
The worst of the worst fixtures seem to be Watford at home to Liverpool and Holgate at home to Chelsea so both those went on the bench with Fletcher. I am thinking about my all out attack chip to try and solve it but Fletcher as 5th midfielder doesn’t excite.

CAPTAIN
At the moment it’s going to be Gabbiadini but I’ll be doing a captain article tomorrow morning so if it changes I’ll see it from that article and tweet it. It’s between him and Kane
