Introduction

Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 4 seasons overall ranks are 17k, 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW7

GW7 points: 58 (FPL average 53) Total points 378, Overall Rank: 1,939k, green arrow  183k Team Value: £100.1m

I haven’t used any chips yet

Here’s the points:

As I said in my early FFGeek team article

So although it was a green arrow of 183k it was an incredibly disappointing gameweek.  When James Ward Prowse gets 17 points and Mitrovic 2 assists then you’ve got to be hoping for real rank movement and 183k going forward to 1.939m in the end was very disappointing.  At one stage over the gameweek I was 1.4m but the late Grealish goal was a real rank killer.

In the end I was behind the average score of the 10 top FPL managers I follow this week and actually dropped down in the FFGeek Contributors League.

I’m still 47 points behind the average of the 10 top Managers and last of the 10 when I would actually hope to be around the average and at least 6th.  The wrong captain choices and not covering their template has hurt me bad.

I’m 85 points behind the top 50k overall rank which is still catchable but this week should have been a week where I made progress towards that not stay stuck in the 80’s away from it.

Transfer thoughts

£1.0m in the Bank and 1 free transfer

I’ve got 2 problems to solve.  Saiss having lost his place and Antonio injured

As Antonio could be back for a good fixture run after the break I’ve concentrated on Saiss.  My prime target is Chilwell who has a good set of fixtures coming up.  I could either take out 1 of the Liverpool players and potentially have no subs with Saiss, Antonio and Reed a potentially non playing bench or replace Saiss and rely on taking out Kane next week when they play Man City so I can get in Calvert Lewin vs Fulham.  Otherwise it will be -4.

I haven’t ruled out wildcarding over the International break so I’ve decided to go for the Saiss transfer

Saiss out Chilwell in

Captain

The FFGeek Captain poll was firmly with Kane so he’s my choice.

Lineup

Antonio is out but in case of a miracle recovery I’ve put him in safe in the knowledge that Soucek will come in for him.

Here’s the lineup

Good luck everyone

    • Geek says that he knows Antonio is out, but there is a strong chance he will be back for WHU good fixture run post international break.
Geeks idea to focus on replacing Saiss looks the right decision thus far…

    • I knew he was out but managers injury reports are often unintentionally or deliberately mislead so I put him in the lineup knowing I had Soucek coming off my FPLteams bench if he didn’t start

  1. Fair enough but to keep a player who is out for a few matches and not replace him with someone who isn’t injured and has decent fixtures is a missed opportunity really. Antonio has had a lot of injuries over that past 2 seasons and probably won’t be thrown straight back into the team.
