Sergio Torija

Sergio finished with an OR of 17k last season and 21k in 16/17

GW1 points: 88 (average 53) Total points 88, Gameweek rank 95k, Overall Rank: 95k, no arrow obviously, Team Value: £100.5m

Great opening week for my team with 88 points and 95k GW rank. It could have been better with a couple other decisions, but after all, very few managers saw the big Palace defence hauls coming or dared captaining Mane over Salah.

One of my wishes from preseason was that I need a 6th midfield spot instead of a forward one J. Other than Zaha, all sub 9 million forward options seem unappealing to me at this point for one or another reason, while at the same time there are lots of midfielders I would like to get into my team which come below the 7 million mark. GW1 has only reinforced this view, with many of these mids putting good performances on the opening game: Maddison, Kennedy, Fraser, Kante, Pereyra, Neves, Richarlison, so worth monitoring. I will look at shifting the balance of my team towards 2 heavy strikers and 5 quality midfielders when I play my wildcard, if not earlier over the next few weeks

For GW2, I confess, I am guilty of having jumped on an early bandwagon, so I did Carney to Neves early on the week, half with the purpose of making a bit of cash and half hoping he will be this year’s Milivojevic from set pieces. Aguero captain this week with excellent fixture home to Huddersfield, however it comes with Pep rotation risk, though I would be surprised of him not starting.

Good luck for GW2 geekers

Robert Cosgrove

Robert finished with an OR of 20k last season and 23k in 16/17

GW1 points: 82 (average 53) Total points 82, Gameweek rank 195k, Overall Rank: 195k, no arrow obviously, Team Value: £100.0m

Quick review: I got a couple 50/50s in my head wrong for the first gameweek which were Schurrle over Pereyra and Sanchez over Mane. I chopped and changed my team so many times before GW1 that I am not too disheartened about this and do plan on removing Sanchez if he continues to underperform his price tag. Schurrle is also on the out list in the near future as he was just a punt based on his previous PL experience with Chelsea, which did not pay off.

However, there will be no movement this week as I am rolling the transfer over to next week.  This was my initial plan pre-season and am sticking to it. Next week I will be taking Davies OUT as he has Man Utd and Liverpool in 2 of the 3 after GW2. He will be replaced by either Robertson or Bellerin. However, I will go into more detail next week.

To conclude, this week I am making no transfers. My only concern is that Yedlin got injured late on against Spurs as I was planning on using him this gameweek only as I am predicting 0-0 for the Cardiff vs Newcastle game. He is back in training and may play so this could change.  Therefore if I don’t go with Yedlin I am gambling on Masuaku claiming at least an assist vs a leaky Bournemouth away defence.

Lastly, as it stands, my captain is Mendy! Largely down to the fact that Aguero may not be nailed (he was my original plan for captain) and last season Huddersfield were the only team to stop Man City scoring a goal at the Etihad!! Therefore massive clean sheet potential for Mendy.

Thanks for reading and good luck to you all!

Costas Chari

Costas finished with an OR of 29k last season and 27k in 16/17

GW1 points: 81 (average 53) Total points 81, Gameweek rank 218k, Overall Rank: 218k, no arrow obviously, Team Value: £100.0m

Hello!! Not very happy with the 81 points in GW1.  5/11 of my players scored just 2 points and 3 of were my strikers (Aguero, Auba, King).

I wont be making any transfers this week as I am saving the free transfer so I can make 3 together if needed with a mere 4 point hit next week.

This weeks captain is definitely Aguero. He has got a great fixture and already 82k have bought him in.

The only change from last week will be Luiz out and Peltier in. I think Arsenal will score v Chelsea and I fancy Cardiff’s chances of getting a clean sheet home against Newcastle.

Good luck everyone!

A nice start to the season. No changes for GW2 other than to make Aguero captain. Will be waiting for Pep’s news conference for further word though.

GW1 points: 96 (average 53) Total points 96, Gameweek rank 28k, Overall Rank: 28k, no arrow obviously, Team Value: £100.3m

Saving my transfer.  Armband on Salah unless Pep says that Kun starts.

If there’s enough info to suggest Chalobah will start I may start him instead of AWB
