GW 11 Review

This week Livramento (6) who cost me 4.0m kept a clean sheet and matched the points of my entire forward line. Vardy (2) Antonio (2) and Antonio (2) cost a grand total of 25.6m. Such is the value at the back and such is the underperformance of the front 3. It is not just my front line, pretty well all the strikers failed to return.

White (8) likewise kept a clean sheet, whereas Trent (12) scored and assisted.

My captain Mo (10) assisted and Raphinha (9) scored again.

Sanchez (-1) seemed to be on his way to another six points but managed to concede and then get sent off.

Overall, my team did fine but I really missed having Cancelo. I had a choice the last international break between him at (6.1m) or Dias (6.1m). I chose not make a very early transfer and got priced out of Cancelo and bought Ruben instead. Cancelo has heavily outscored his team mate since then.

To add insult to injury, this was the first time Dias (6) has returned since I bought him, but I had benched him for Rudiger (1)

Looking Forward

I have 2FTs and a wildcard burning a hole in my pocket.

My plan is to use my WC in either GW 15 or GW16.

Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd and West Ham all have strong fixtures.

I have two plans at the moment. The first is to get Cancelo in. I am short of funds with 0.3 in the bank. I can sell Benrahma for Gallagher and then buy Cancelo for Rudiger.

My second plan is be more aggressive and to attack short term fixtures and at the same time get rid of the underperforming Vardy.

Newcastle (Wilson) and Spurs (Son, Kane and Regulon) both have great short-term fixtures.

At time of writing, Robertson is injured but I do not know how long he is out. If it’s for 4 GWs, it would be great to bring in Tsimikas. That would allow me the funds to sell White, Benrahma and Vardy for Tsimikas, Son and Wilson for a hit.

I will wait until Friday before making any transfer and as usual I will post on twitter.

Transfer summary: Either Option 1: Benrahma out for Gallagher in and Cancelo in for Rudiger out or

Option 2: White, Benrahma and Vardy OUT for Tsimikas, Son and Wilson IN for a -4 point hit.

Here’s the team assuming I take option 2

63 points which resulted in a second consecutive green arrow to 84k getting me back to roughly where I was early in the season. It was the decision to play Cancelo which really paid off with 14 points. Alexander-Arnold 12 points, Gallagher 11 points, 10 from captain Salah and 9 from Raphinha were the other returners. Blanks for all my forwards again, the double Chelsea defence and the red card for Sanchez.

GW12 Preview

I have 2 free transfers but only 0.1m in the bank. My weak links currently are the forwards and Benrahma who is too expensive for the bench, has bad fixtures until GW18 and is being outscored by Bowen who I’d much rather have. I also don’t have Livramento due to the fact my defence have all been too good to transfer out. I’d ideally like a Spurs attacker for their 4 good upcoming fixtures however I can only do this with a direct Ronaldo to Kane swap. Given Leeds’ defensive stats are good lately and Ronaldo has Watford next this move doesn’t make sense to me (although it could certainly burn me).

Therefore my transfers this week are likely to be Rudiger to Livramento and Benrahma to Jota. This still leaves the option of Ronaldo>Kane next week when Ronaldo has Chelsea.

Rudiger is set to start most games so in the mass of upcoming games it would make sense to keep. However the fixture rotation of White and Livramento is very good and so playing one of those two each week instead of Rudiger should yield at least a similar score, and save me £1.4m.

I’d have liked Foden, but he is more expensive and prone to rotation. Jota could be a strong asset going forward with Firmino’s injury and the Africa cup of nations coming up which Salah will be attending. This would move Toney to the bench from next week (more difficult dilemma this week).

The other option would be to upgrade Toney to Wilson. Short term Newcastle have a few good fixtures and I’m expecting a new manager bounce. This would mean keeping Benrahma though. I’m ideally looking to get Bowen in GW18 so keeping the money in midfield seems better longer term.

Team below is before any transfers. With my moves it would mean Livramento playing, Jota playing, Gallagher or Raphina on the bench with White second sub. Captain is Salah.

Good luck all

transfer summary: Likely Rudiger to Livramento and Benrahma to Jota

Costas has used his wildcard

The International breaK has just about come to an end and it was really a first IB that I was looking forward to!

if you are not having the best of seasons such as me then its good to just take a break, decompress, rethink and plan ahead with a clear mind.

Due to injuries I haven’t been able to stick to a plan this season and I am hoping I can finally make a series of planned transfers rather than just reacting to events.

I took a couple (maybe more) of calculated risks this season none of which worked out so hopefully lady luck will be on my side from now on as I try to climb up the ranks. So the talk of the IB was SPURS and which asset to get. Lets be honest we all got a Brentford asset or even doubled on them due to schedule so bad form or not Spurs is the way to go especially after a new world class coach signing and Kane getting on the scoresheet in the IB even though against easy opposition.

I was always on the double up with Kane and Son trying to maximise my gain if Spurs go crazy! Son I believe at 2.0mil cheaper with extra points for CS and goals sounds better although Kane is on pens and he is a direct one transfer to Ronaldo later on. With Son you require 2 transfers but the fixture swing is 4 gwks away so with good planning you can make it work!

Another reason I am on the double up is that I want to keep Son in the team long term! and have Ronaldo, Salah and Son GW16 onwards.

De Bruyne (I also have Foden and Cancelo), Aubameyang (my last weeks captain who got me a marvellous -2) make way for the Spurs duo! …. I was 0.3 short I had to take a -4 point hit! the options were Cucho out to a £4.7m and below player which I did not want as no one is nailed. Cucho at least gets games. Other 2 options where Mbeumo and White but at those prices there weren’t any good options. So I went with Toney out for Pukki. I wanted off the Brentford double and Pukki initiates a great 3-4 weeks run and with a new manager and the first win of the season in hand spirits should be up- he is on pens as well.

I have no lineup issues and captain will go on Salah! I think with the double up on spurs I am covered enough at this stage

transfer summary: De Bruyne, Toney and Aubameyang out for Son, Kane and Pukki
