Introduction

This is part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either and I can’t guarantee that a manager will be able to post each week. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 5 seasons ORs were 1k, 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

Well, what a start. Weeks don’t get much better than that. The more cautious among us probably ended up around the 100-point mark with Bruno and Salah chipping in a large chunk. If you were bolder, and went for something less template, then it may not have worked out quite so well. Remember, though, that while a lower score might not look so pretty when faced with a bombardment of boastful Twitter accounts, there’s a very long way to go and plenty of time to make up the difference.

Regrets?

Only four of my starting 11 didn’t return: Sanchez, Shaw, Barnes and Toney. None of them were so bad that I’m willing to burn a transfer moving them out without seeing what they can offer in GW2. I’m mildly irritated that I settled on Barnes instead of Sarr or Benrahma – both of which hopped in and out of my midfield in the days before deadline – but hopefully Barnes can deliver this week to vindicate my choice.

Issues

Not having any City attackers when they play Norwich this week is a worry, but there’s nothing to be done. Bruno and Salah aren’t going anywhere, so only Gundogan would be achievable with my FT and he’s flagged with a shoulder injury. Grealish is the only player with the ownership and point potential to do any major damage, so I guess I’ll just hope he stays quiet.

Transfer

Assuming no injuries strike, the sensible thing for me to do is nothing. There’s no such thing as form after just one match and wasting transfers swapping around mid price players to chase last week’s points is as likely to backfire as anything else. Next week I’ll be better placed to make some changes.

Captain

Bruno has made a strong case for his consideration, but I’ll probably stick with Salah.

Hi all, so after a decent start to the season (101 points and decent OR300k , not that it really matters in this time of the season), I am saving my FT to have 2 for GW3, and to have more information regarding Kane/Lukaku and generally… Captaincy on Salah again, good luck all

Sergio Torija

Sergio’s last 5 seasons overall ranks were 262k 2k, 596k, 17k and 21k

A good start to the season with 96 points, with Bruno Fernandes, Salah and Antonio in double figures, while Ings, Townsend and Liverpool defence*2 also contributing to the cause.

No transfers planned this week, Veltman is flagged, but it doesn’t seem to be long term. Captain will be Salah with Bruno as vice.

Good luck all for GW2
