Introduction

This is part 4 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW24 points:  90  (FPL average 61) Total points: 1,606, Overall Rank: 7k, no rank movement,  Team Value: £106.1m

It’s fair to say things are a bit up in the air at the moment and we’re either going to end up with no information on DGW26 before deadline or have a mad rush on our hands as it’s all revealed with just a few hours to go. All we can do is be as well prepared as possible.

As it stands

I’ve already made my free transfer and moved in Ings for Cavani. That sets my team up like this for DGW25.

This gives me four double players this week. Even though recent form suggests I’d be better off playing Martinez, I can’t bring myself to bench a keeper with two matches.

This looks fine, but it rules out an optimised bench boost in DGW26 and leaves me short on funds if I need Kane for GW26.

Potential Wildcard

The news I’m really waiting for is whether Southampton have a double in GW26 or not. If it’s revealed that they do (and there are no surprises) then I’ll Wildcard to this.

It’s a -16 (which justifies the Wildcard use), gives me an extra double player in GW25
and leaves me with 2.5m in the bank. That allows me to swap Raphinha to Grealish in DGW26 and BB with 13 doubles and 2 popular Leeds assets.

The downside is I’d be going without Kane for a few weeks, but Ings would likely double in 25, 26 and 27 so I’d be happy keeping him instead.

If Southampton don’t have a double in GW26 then Kane has to come in, so i’d need to make a few adjustments.

Captain

It’ll be Bamford this week. Ings Vice

Transfer summary:  Ings in for Cavani out but could still wildcard

Harry Vernon

Harry Vernon’s last 4 seasons are 22k, 6k, an incredible 224th and 6k

GW24 points:  88  (FPL average 61) Total points: 1,509, Overall Rank: 175k, Green arrow 7k,  Team Value: £104.7m

I will see if the fixtures are announced today but if they are not I will sell Soucek for Raphinha and save a free transfer

Transfer summary:  Depends on fixtures but possibly Soucek out Raphina in

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 41k, 17k and 1k

GW24 points:  86  (FPL average 61) Total points: 1,466, Overall Rank: 418k, Green arrow 21k,  Team Value: £104.5m

I’m still debating whether to wildcard, not just to try and exploit a Bench Boost in GW26, but also because I’m just not overly happy with where my team is right now. In particular, I have 3 players from West Ham, whose fixtures take a turn for the worse, and Mitchell, who looks to be back to being a non-starter.

The issue is that my relatively low team value stops me from having the wildcard team that I would want. Also, I’m not sure I would want to take the risk of using my wildcard without the DGW fixtures being officially announced.

So I’m preparing for the wildcard but will make the final call just before the deadline.

My current draft wildcard is below. Dallas could be Shaw. I would likely take a -4 for GW26 to turn Raphinha to Harvey Barnes and Ings to Kane.

If I do not wildcard, then I would remove Soucek for Raphinha. I would consider taking a hit to bring in Ings for Calvert-Lewin, but not sure it would be worth it for one week only.

I am really tempted to give the captaincy to Raphinha this week. Again, it’s likely to be a last-minute decision!

Best of luck to you all.

Transfer summary:  either Soucek out and Raphina in or a wildcard

Ben Wooton

Ben’s last 4 seasons overall rank were 5k, 61k, 26k and 31k.

GW24 points:  93  (FPL average 61) Total points: 1,455, Overall Rank: 501k, Green arrow 96k,  Team Value: £106.2m

Still pondering fixtures and was hoping for some clarity. Considering a hit for Ings due to Calvert Lewin injury situation vs a double.

However as things stand it’s

Soucek out Raphinha in

Capt Bamford with new recruit as vice.
(I am tempted to reverse this)

Def I go with Dallas and Mccarthy due to doubles and pair former with City pair. I don’t see Arsenal as much threat but could yet drop Robertson in for stones.

I have kept Gundogan
I feel subs are OK in Watkins and Robertson. Rest of midfield good enough.

Up top it is Bamford plus Calvert Lewin

Think I could take latter out for Ings hit as he could could have a few good games and potentially so could pay off.

transfer summary:  Soucek to Raphina done.  Possibly Calvert Lewin out for Ings
