Fantasy premier league team tips GW27 – FFGeek contributors show their GW27 teams part 2

Here’s part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

You can see our part 1 contributors article here and also a special on how the contributors plan to navigate the blanks and double gameweeks coming up

Jordan Sadler

Jordan finished with an overall rank of 76k last season

Gameweek 26 review:

A week I’m just putting behind me. The more I‘ve thought about the Sterling + Wan-Bissaka vs Silva + Richarlison choice the more annoyed I’ve become as if I’d just done it in a calculated way like most of my other decisions this year I’d have made the right call. Unfortunately I was being a bit lazy that day and didn’t think it through fully and have now paid the price. The Aguero hattrick when I sold him for the ill Aubameyang was rather frustrating as well. All in all those two decisions cost me around 45 points which is the difference between being in the 2000’s and the 200’s right now. But it is what it is and I’m still doing very well and so let’s move on.

Gameweek 27:

Transfers:

It was a pre planned transfer for this week of D Silva out and Son in. This now gives me 11 players for the first blank gameweek of the season in GW27.

Bench:

My subs are just my blank players so Richarlison, Luiz and Digne.

Captain:

I’ll be captaining Aubameyang versus Southampton this week I think. Southampton’s defence is still quite shaky and so I’d expect Arsenal to score at least a couple on the weekend.

Blank and double gameweeks plan (without a wildcard):

So I’ve invested a good chunk of today working out my strategy for this period. I felt there were 2 viable options:

A) 31 FH, 32 BB and 35 TC

B) 32 FH, 35 TC with BB just on a random week with all good fixtures

Option A

I looked at each individual week and how I’d use my transfers to maximise my players for 32, 33 and 35. This was the rough guide to what I’d do:

28: save transfer

29: 2 free transfers to get to 9 DGW32 players

30: free transfer to get to 10 DGW32 players

31: Free Hit

32: save, use Bench Boost and have 10 DGW players + 3 LFC + Luiz + 1 other

33: 2 free transfers to get 10 players

34: save

35: 2 transfers for 6 DGW players + 3 LFC + Luiz + 1 other with Triple Captain on Aguero

Option B

I did the same and this is the rough guide to what I’d do:

28: save

29: 2 free transfers to get 9 BGW31 players

30: 1 free transfer to get 10 BGW31 players

31: 1 free transfer to get 11 BGW players

32: Free Hit

33: save, 11 BGW players

34: 2 free transfers for 5 DGW35 players

35: free transfer for 6 DGW players + 3 LFC + Luiz + 1 other with Triple Captain on Aguero

Then use bench boost on whichever week has the best bench from now to end of season. I think both of these are viable options. It was just working out what was best for my team and the only way to do that was via transfer planning and look at what each individual gameweek’s squad would look like. After A LOT of planning and analysing I decided that A) was the way to go for me.

Transfer guide

My rough transfer guide would be something like this:

29: Digne + Richarlison + Robertson > Laporte + Milivojevic (or someone up to 7.3m) + TAA (-4)

30: Speroni > Guaita

31: Free Hit

32: save transfer and use Bench Boost on 10 DGW players + 3 LFC + Luiz + Puncheon

33: Son + Rashford > Hazard + Rondon for 10 BGW players

34: save

35: Hazard + Auba > Sterling + Aguero giving me 6 BGW players + 3 LFC + Luiz + Rondon. Triple Captain on Aguero.

That’s my very rough guide. What I didn’t like about B) was that I had to slightly compromise my GW28, 29 and 30 teams to prepare for 31 and 33 and my bench boost wouldn’t have been used as effectively. The con of A) is that I’ll have to take a hit to make it work and I’ll only have 10 BGW players for 33 but on balance I felt the cons of B) outweighed A)’s. All in all I’m pretty content with that plan and I don’t really think that puts me too far behind people with wildcards thanks to the Liverpool players. Obviously this is just preliminary and I may change my mind between now and gameweek 29 but this is my plan as things stand.

Hope this helps you if you’re trying to navigate this tricky period without a wildcard. Good luck in gameweek 27.

Prakhar Patel

Prakhar finished in 17th overall in fantasy premier league last season.  An amazing achievement

GW26 points: 71  (average 57) Total points 1,650 Gameweek rank 1,225k, Overall Rank: 9k, no rank movement, Team Value: £103.3m

I’ll start with the chip strategy I am going to use for the Blank and the double game weeks and then I’ll give a summary of the transfers I made for the blank GW27 which will help me prepare for GW31.

Chip Strategy(All chips available)

Looking at the team currently, if I use the free transfers available upto blank GW31 then I’ll be able to field 9 to 10 players which is pretty good.Which means that I’ll use the free hit chip in DGW32 which seems ideal as the points potential can be huge.If I use the free hit in GW31 and wildcard in 32 then I’ll face a huge task to field even half a team in GW33 as there are a lot of common teams who blank in both GW31 and GW33.So preparing from now on for GW31 will also ensure that I have almost a full squad for GW33. After that I’ll wildcard in GW34 to prepare the squad for DGW35.I am still undecided on whether to play the bench boost or the triple captain but I am leaning more towards the BB.And then I’ll be looking to use the TC on salah most probably for the Huddersfield fixture but all is still undecided. It looks something like this.

1)Use free transfers to prepare forGW31 which will also help in GW33
2)Free hit in DGW32
3)Wildcard in GW34
4)Bench boost/Triple captain in DGW35
5)Triple captain/BB in GW36-38

Blank GW27 Transfers(Took a hit)

I had a non playing keeper in Ederson so the priority was replacing with someone who played in both GW31 and 33. A couple of options were reasonable but Fabianski is the one who stood out so he came in. Another issue was Richarlison(who blanks in GW27)as I just couldn’t resist getting rid of him.West Ham and Leicester both have amazing fixtures so Maddison and Anderson were on the watch list but I went for Filipe due to the injury concerns for Maddison. Captaincy options aren’t great this week but the best one is Son away to Burnley so Son it is.

This strategy might not work for your team so recognise what you need to do according to where you stand right now.Try and think differently because that can make a lot of difference as you can make a lot of ground if this crucial decisions work in your favour.

Good luck everyone and may your arrows be green!

Transfer summary:  Ederson out and Fabianski in plus Richarlison out and Felipe Anderson in.

Yaniv talks more about his chip strategy in the FFGeek contributors blanks and doubles special

Hi guys,

GW26 review

So it was a very strange week for me, after not bringing Kun in for the previous DGW (which cost me more than 30 points), I assumed Auba will get more points than Kun (Huddersfield VS Chelsea), Auba was not in the squad and Kun got another hat trick in an explosive City winning 6-0! , so you could expect I would get a huge red arrow, but somehow it was no movement in OR due to 6 returns, an annoying own goal from Kola in the 94th minute cost me 10 points!

At least I am not worried from Kun this GW, as he doesn’t have a game… But totally this move not bringing in Kun in the DGW cost me more than 50 points and maybe my mini cash league title, or even a top 10k spot, but I will fight till the end, there will be a lot of changes due to the fact that there are more than 6-7 options for how to use the chips this year, so everything is still open I guess.

GW27 and forward

I was thinking a lot of holding the transfer due to the fact I couldn’t decide with option to use, but due to the fact that I want to have the best lineup till GW30 (and try to decrease gaps), without thinking about putting a lineup ahead for GW31 (and due to the fat that I had only 4 players with a game in GW31), I think I will stick to the “Yaniv’s Option” in the Geeks blanks and doubles article and that’s mean that I am running a team only for 3 games now (WC 30+FH31), so I brought in Yedlin for Digne who don’t have a game, while Newcastle CS odds is 1.91 and they have later Burnley (H) and West Ham (A).

About the lineup, very tough calls as I have 6 players from Man U and Liverpool, while 3 of them in the defence as I don’t think there will be there clean sheets, so for now Robo and Shaw is outside, together with Deulofeu, anyway I will monitor it Friday evening as Jota and Doherty are with flags for now.

Auba is getting the armband and I hope he can start bringing back some of his debt to my team!

Best of luck!

Yaniv

Transfer summary;  Yedlin for Digne
