So in the end an ok week, after what appeared at the time a disastrous Salah blank on Saturday lunchtime. Luckily other captain favourite Bruno Fernandes also decided to blank 😅. Frustratingly I kept Gundogan in the end after he was declared fit and then he went on to blank in a 5-0 win!

I’ve moved early this week with my two free transfers to catch price rises (avoid falls) moving Gundogan to man of the moment Benrahma – I’m not completely sold on him but can’t argue with his form plus Palace and Southampton as next two fixtures. I’ve also shifted Tsimikas to Regulion; banking his 0.1m profit ahead of the fit again Robertson likely taking back his place – luxury at 5.0m but he’s attacking so I’m hoping for some assists plus two nice next fixtures in Watford and Palace. I’d considered moving on White, especially as he’s likely to lose value but it felt short sighted with the fixtures from gw4 turning nicely for Arsenal. I’m still left with Amartey who might keep his place for now and hopefully jump to 4.1m to give some protection from the inevitable price fall when he loses his place.

I’m keeping faith with Toney for now, with an eye on moving him on in gw6 when the fixtures turn. I feel stuck with Bachmann at the moment, with goalkeeper transfers always feeling a luxury – his fixtures pick up in gw4 so I might give him a few games before moving on.

I’m left with 0.4m in the bank which I’m hoping is sufficient to move Ings to Calvert Lewin in gw4 – my preferred transfer if no fires to put out which might be hopeful after an international break.

Captain currently on Antonio, though could still swap to Fernandes.

Good luck 🍀

GW2 review

Another good week for me to start the season despite the captaincy blank (as the majority did). Salah and Bruno blanked however Sanchez kept a clean sheet, the Tsimikas and TAA double up in defence both got double digit returns and attack wise I had returns from Antonio, Ings, Raphina and Greenwood. Sarr and Shaw the other blankers. This makes Shaw the only non-returned in the 2 weeks excluding bench, and even he managed 2 BPS. So overall I couldn’t have envisaged much more and would like to continue my good start now (I usually start poorly).

GW3 Preview

I have 2 FT now but would like to roll one into the international break. I have my eye on an Ings to DCL move in GW4 so an extra free transfer could be valuable in case of injuries or COVID issues over the break. DCL will likely rise in price again but I can’t sell Ings before a home game vs Brentford.

There’s nobody I’m in desperate need to get rid of given everyone (minus Shaw) has returned so far. I do have Tsimikas to deal with now that Robertson will be returning (possibly this week) and Liverpool have Chelsea anyway. I don’t need to do it this week as I have Coufal to play but it’s the most sensible play. I also have White, and Arsenal’s defence has been terrible. The fixtures after City this week are good though, which was why I had him in reserve to start with so I won’t get rid just yet.

I am loving the look of Benrahma. West Ham look great in attack (and are top of the team Xg by some way – albeit vs Newcastle and a 10 man Leicester) and he is involved in everything. Sarr has good fixtures, and looked decent himself in GW1 but there is serious temptation to swap for Benhrama with Palace a good entry point.

My other consideration is for Wolves amazing fixture run from GW4 onwards. Wolves also have had decent attacking numbers, but have yet to score which will surely change with the fixtures. Therefore Jiminez is in my thoughts as well but with Antonio and Ings/Calvert-Lewin already in my squad it’s hard to fit him in. Fixture wise Bamford is also a good option given Leeds run from GW4 but I’m happy with Raphinha as Leeds attack cover for now.

So in summary I’ll be using 1 of 2 FT to either move Tsimikas out (for Livramento) or Sarr to Benhrama. Then GW4 I’ll use 2FT to deal with any international break issues as well as take advantage of the fixture swings. Transfers not made yet as will need to think a little more on it.

Captain is currently on Antonio

Good luck all

Transfer summary: Likely Tsimikas out for Livramento or Sarr to Benrahma

Sergio Torija

Sergio’s last 5 seasons overall ranks were 262k 2k, 596k, 17k and 21k

GW2 Points: 72  (FPL average 56) Total points: 168, Overall Rank: 488k, green arrow: 145k  Team Value: £100.4m

A decent GW2 score for me to follow up the cracker start to the season that GW1 was. Captain blank with Salah as most managers will have had, but three players in double digits (Alexandeer Arnold, Tsimikas, Antonio), plus returns from Grealish and Ings to save the week.

Going into GW3 I had two free transfers, which I’ve used. The first transfer used to bring in Benrahma for Townsend, not much to explain on that. The second transfer to deal with Veltman who is still red flagged, confirmed to miss GW3 and without clarity on return. Since I didn’t love any of the 4.5 options, I’ve just gone cheaper to Livramento at 4.0. This leaves me with enough money in the bank to carry out my penciled moves for the next couple of weeks which are Ings to Calvert-Lewin and Tsimikas to someone 4.5.

As for GW3 captain, I was already considering Antonio before his Monday night performance. I guess now he might even be the favourite on the polls? So in principle I’ll stick to that with Fernandes vice.

Good luck all

Transfer summary: Townsend out and Benrahma in Plus Veltman out and Livramento in. both completed
