Introduction

This is part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Not really sure what I’ll do this week but probably some combination of Iheanacho out to Calvert-Lewin/Antonio/Bamford funded by Maguire and maybe Mendy out. Currently leaning to Calvert Lewin/Alying/Meslier for a -8

Transfer summary: to be confirmed possibly Iheanacho, Maguire and Mendy out for Calvert-lewin, Ayling and Meslier in

GW35 review to date

As I write this on Wednesday night after the Chelsea v Arsenal game, it’s currently a bit of a meh gameweek with much hinging on my 7 remaining players tomorrow. I’ve had 5 players return from my 11 which is pretty average, possibly even a bit underwhelming with it being a double/triple gameweek for most. My Transfers In are doing ok though – Trent at present has outscored Castagne 7 to 2 and Greenwood has outscored Son 18 to 7. I suspect Greenwood won’t start versus Liverpool, but I’m still hopeful that at least a couple of my players in this game get me something. Fingers crossed I can at least scrape a grey arrow!

1 free transfer and 0.7m in the bank.

At present I’ve 9 players with a match this week and Veltman is rated as doubtful with a calf strain, so I’ll definitely be taking a hit to get myself to 10 at least and hopefully 11 if The Mighty Joel makes it. I’ve got a keen eye on the week’s fixtures with Everton vs Sheffield United and Burnley v Leeds looking nice ones to target from a transfer perspective.

I’ll be sadly transferring out Iheanacho this week. There’s a degree of risk associated to this with his ownership pretty high in my rank tier, but I feel this is mitigated by his blank and 2 difficult fixtures to finish. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (DCL) will be coming in to replace him. I’ll need to generate some funds for this with my minus 4. Moving on my 1 week triple gameweek punt of Mason Greenwood looks the most appealing route at the moment. As for who wiould come in – there’s a few options, but a fit again Raphinha appeals to me the most.

I’ve got a couple of other choices/routes for my -4. One is to go Bruno to Son, though I’m not overly sure I want to be without the Portuguese midfielder for the last couple of games. Another is to go Shaw to a sub 4.4m defender, but there’s few in the bracket who appeal to me and the ceiling is much lower for the hit, so I’ll probably go with my initial thought and do the Greenwood/Raphinha move.

My team therefore will pick itself with me only having 11 players. The only decision left is Captaincy – I’m leaning towards Mo Salah this week, but I’ll check Geek’s Captain Poll on Friday and if there’s any hint of a split, I might be tempted to take a punt this week and go for Calvert-Lewin. I’ve been hovering around the 15k mark for a few weeks now and I’m thinking that if I’m going to try and nudge into the Top 10k I’m going to need to take a risk somewhere. A Captain split this week could be one option, with the other possibly be to go for a differential Captain in GW38.

That’s me for this week then folks. Another Friday deadline looms and I’m in work again, so I’ll try my best to get my final team up on Twitter in my break. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the action.

transfer summary: Likely Greenwood out to Raphinha in and Iheanacho out and Calvert Lewin in

My two transfers out this week will be Vardy and one of Lindelof or Rudiger. At the moment, it’s Lindelof on the basis of a coin toss!

Transfers in will be Antonio, Bamford or Wood. Yes, I am considering Wood against my better judgement as his form is difficult to ignore although I think Antonio’s and Bamford’s ceilings are higher so I’ll probably go with one of them. I’d probably prefer Antonio but I already have Lingard and Coufal so might feel a little over invested in West Ham getting Antonio too. My defender transfer in will likely be Dallas. I’m considering Digne too but his Man City fixture in GW38 is putting me off as I already have Calvert-Lewin.

I’ll then have 2 transfers for 37 and 38. At the moment, I have my eye on Lingard and Jota as potential transfers out for Raphinha and Greenwood. I’ll see whether they rediscover their form before GW37 before making a decision.

The captain’s armband is on Calvert-Lewin at the moment with Salah as vice. Besides those 2, Son is also an option for the captaincy.

Enjoy the game week.

Transfer summary Vardy out and Lindelof or Rudiger out. Possibly Antonio and Dallas in.
