Fantasy premier league team tips GW38 – FFGeek contributors show their GW38 teams part 2

Here’s part 2 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Jordan Sadler

Jordan finished with an overall rank of 76k last season

Gameweek 37 review

Rather underwhelming week for the penultimate gameweek of the season. A quite low score of 38 took me down another 2k to 15k OR. Truthfully, I’ve been so busy the last 2-3 months that I’ve been kind of neglecting my team somewhat so my drop in rank was inevitable really. Just goes to show how important investing time and doing appropriate planning is within this game. Only two returns in my entire squad this week and they were Hazard and Doherty. I did consider captaining Hazard but Chelsea’s inconsistency put me off the idea.

In regards to the other 9 who didn’t return it was just not great performances across the board from their teams bar Wolves for Jimenez. Arsenal were poor and drew with Lacazette not returning. Liverpool conceded 2 against Newcastle meaning my double Liverpool defence didn’t return. United draw to Huddersfield meaning my transfer in of Shaw failed and both my offensive United players didn’t return. Worst of all was Son getting sent off in the Spurs game during a poor performance from them as well. I’m now just hoping for better team performances from those teams and then hopefully the returns will come with it.

Gameweek 38

Transfers

With it being the final gameweek of the season I thought I’d take a small gamble by bringing in Sane. I think he’ll start tomorrow but even if he doesn’t he’ll still likely get 30 minutes or so. I brought him in alongside Rondon for the banned Son and Jimenez who has Liverpool. This was for a hit however.

Bench

McNeil vs Arsenal (H), Pereira vs Chelsea (H), Jimenez vs Liverpool (A). A rather straight forward bench this week as the fixtures made it pretty obvious who to bench.

Captain

Being a Liverpool fan and coming off the back of the hype of that Barcelona game, I’d expect Anfield to be rocking for the final game of the season. Therefore, I’ve once again gone Mane as my captain vs Wolves.

Good luck with gameweek 38!

Transfer summary:  Sane and Rondon for Son and Jimenez.

Prakhar Patel

Prakhar finished in 17th overall in fantasy premier league last season.  An amazing achievement

GW37 points: 36 on TC (average 48) Total points 2,299 Gameweek rank 5,182k, Overall Rank: 16k, red arrow 3k, Team Value: £102.1m

Firstly I would like to thank the Geek for providing me with this opportunity this season to share my knowledge on this platform. It has been an amazing experience being a part of this site with some of the best managers I’ve known.

This is how the team looks after a pretty poor GW37. This season has been full of highs and lows and I have learnt a lot from it and that being said, the aim is to finish within the top 10k. The suspension of Son was the priority and I’ve gone for Bernardo Silva as his replacement. I thought about a differential captain at first but Aguero on the last day with the title on the line, you can’t go wrong.Right? Just going with the one Wolves player as I think Liverpool are going to run riot and give all they have. That’s it.

A very good luck to everyone and may you achieve whatever you’re hoping for.  It ’s been a pleasure sharing my thoughts and I hope I’ve helped some of you in some way along the season.See you next season!

Transfer summary:  Son out and Bernardo Silva in.

Mikael Danielsen

Mikael finished 100k OR last season and 5k in 16/17

GW37 points: 45 (average 48) Total points 2,301 Gameweek rank 3,701k, Overall Rank: 15k, no rank movement, Team Value: £106.3m

Transfer is Jota out and Fraser in. I’ll then play 3-5-2 with a bench of Ryan, Jiménez, Valery and  Vertonghen. If Robertson doesn’t start, Valery will come to the rescue.

Stephen Troop

Stephen finished with an OR of 52k last season

GW37 points: 50 (average 48) Total points 2,248 Gameweek rank 2,645k, Overall Rank: 47k, green arrow 3k, Team Value: £102.6m

Review

In a low scoring gameweek, I was grateful to see 50 points and a 3k rank increase to 48k. Considering I had no attacking returns from my midfield or strikers and had Son’s red card i’m not quite sure how that happened.

Preview

2FTs and for mini league reasons I will be taking a couple of risks. Obvious targets out are Son and Gray and I’m thinking Vardy and Babel. The final week of the season usually results in lots of goals as player’s heads are on the beach.

Therefore I want home team players where possible against teams not fighting for top 4 or survival. Vardy fits this bill as Leicester have been on form recently and posting good attacking stats and I don’t feel Chelsea will push too hard for a result, particularly if they qualify for the Europa league final. Babel has been performing well and faces a safe Newcastle side. I fancy Fulham to put the effort in for their last game in the league for now. There are other options i’m considering (Southampton options mainly) and will make a final decision over the weekend.

In the meantime here’s my team from last weekend

Robert Cosgrove

Robert finished with an OR of 20k last season and 23k in 16/17

GW37 points: 52 -4 (average 48) Total points 2,261 Gameweek rank 2,447k, Overall Rank: 37k, green arrow 1k, Team Value: £102.0m

2 transfers for 4 point hit as I needed to get my Wolves defenders out!

Doherty -> Shaw
Boly -> Bertrand

Mikael Hietala

Mikael finished with an OR of 22k last season

GW37 points: 43 (average 48) Total points 2,028 Gameweek rank 4,064k, Overall Rank: 961k, red arrow 71k, Team Value: £100.4m

Unluckily I was not able to replicate last season’s success this time around, and decided on a very differential transfer to get a big green arrow on the final gameweek of the season. I am shipping out Kolasinac, who has been terrible from the FPL perspective, to take in Digne. Spurs are pretty much sure of a CL spot for next season (3 points above Arsenal with +8 goal difference), so I think they will be resting their main stars (also Son is suspended due to his mindless red card) against Everton. Digne has been on a good run of form all season and could contribute an assist or optimistically find the back of the net. The armband goes to Aguero because he simply loves deciding the title.

Best of luck to everyone!
