Introduction

This is part 4 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Andrew Pratt

Andrew finished with an overall rank of 313k last 8k in 18/19 and 1k in 17/18

GW6 points: 45 (FPL average 48), Total points: 378, Overall Rank: 254k,  red arrow: 89k,  Team Value: £101.3m

A disappointing and pretty forgettable gameweek summed up by my captain Salah’s misfortune.
Leeds impressed while City and Everton stuttered.

I have 2 free transfers this week but I don’t have any burning issues in my team (apart from them
not scoring enough points). I had my eye on Antonio for gameweek 8 against Fulham but it sounds
like he might be out for about 4 weeks.

I’ve instead transferred out Maupay for Bamford. At the start of the season this would’ve been
unthinkable but Bamford and Leeds are doing well and the price saving can be used elsewhere.
Additionally, it’s a good time to bring him in as he now faces Leicester who has some defensive
injuries.

Captain will probably be Salah with vice on Kane. I wouldn’t be surprised by some rotation this week
so my bench will be doing their stretches.

Looking forward, I have a feeling that Chelsea’s goal-scoring mechanism will click into gear pretty
soon and it’ll be a mad rush to get their attackers in. If Rodriguez doesn’t play or Chelsea steamrolls
Burnley I will consider Rodriguez to Pulisic / Havertz / Ziyech (with the Maupay saving). The player I
most fear not owning now is Sadio Mane.

Good luck, all!

Avishek Majumdar

Avishek’s last 3 seasons are 13k, 45k and 64k

Carrying over the FT barring last minute injury news. Captain Salah as of now but it’s really close between him and Kane. Good luck!

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 41k, 17k and 1k

GW6 points: 41 on WC (FPL average 48), Total points: 320, Overall Rank: 2,122k,  red arrow: 417k,  Team Value: £100.2m

So my delayed wildcard failed to stem the awful start to the season! A very disappointing gameweek, but I am still much happier with my squad that I was before. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards.

This week, I am looking at removing Maupay for Bamford. Although the upcoming fixtures aren’t the best, I think it’s worth the £0.7m saving and I’d be getting a player that has some confidence. I’ll make the final call just before the deadline.

The armband is currently on Son. Having watched Brighton’s game against West Brom, I think they are susceptible to pace and wingers running at them. But strong cases can be made for both Kane and Salah and I may well have a last minute change of heart.

Good luck to you all!

GW6 Review

It was a horror show for so many this week with only Son captainers and Zaha/Bamford owners with much to cheer. I personally dropped from 2.3m to 2.8m with 40 points. Kane/Son plus a clean sheet from Dallas was basically it. I’m reasonably happy with my team though. Like man others we could have had much more from Salah captain, and how Grealish didn’t get points is incredible. Semedo’s late clean sheet loss was hard to take as well when so many got clean sheet points for Saiss.

GW7

I have 2FTs and 1.6m in the bank so have a lot of flexibility. My biggest weakness is the double Brighton attack. They flatter to deceive and couldn’t return on promising stats they had been getting against WBA which is concerning. So at least one is going this week.

My options are

1) Maupay > Ings and Soucek to Bissouma to fund
2) Maupay > Antonio or Bamford
3) Trossard > Zaha or Foden or Bowen

I am leaning towards option 2 currently as I would like to keep money in the bank in order to get more City/United assets in a few weeks where their fixtures improve. Bamford has really stepped up this season and posting some good underlying stats in an attacking team. It is such a stark contrast from his Championship stats where he fluffed so many good chances week in week out, which has made me up until now skeptical. However It is a good saving over Maupay and the cash will come in useful, and he is clearly full of confidence. If Antonio is fit however his fixtures after this week are incredible. I am just a bit skeptical over this injury.

Option 3 would probably wait as Zaha vs Wolves/ Bowen vs Liverpool isn’t a great entry point. I’m just not sure I trust Zaha and Palace to score enough goals either. Zaha’s stats are good, and a clear step up from last season and he has good fixtures so is certainly an option. I’ve not considered selling TAA yet however the option to switch to Chilwell could be tempting soon too.

This just leaves lineup decisions and Captains. Captain will likely be Kane and I’ll play Dallas over KWP.

Good luck all
