Introduction

Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 4 seasons overall ranks are 17k, 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW11

GW11 points: 82 (FPL average 62) Total points 631, Overall Rank: 1,216k, green arrow  463k Team Value: £100.5m

I used my wildcard in GW9

Here’s the points:

So a 400k green arrow to 631 points and 1.216m overall rank.

Joseph Crilley put out an interesting tweet yesterday

Think that Spurs game is a classic example of why overall rank is almost meaningless until the gameweek is finished. Especially this season where there are so many premiums scoring well and we can’t own them all!

Never has that been so true until this week when at one stage I was 1 million in overall rank up to 600k OR and only Kane , Son and Salah could ruin it for me. As it happened they all got double figure FPL point hauls and I lost 600k of that 1 million overall rank improvement. When you get 9 returning players then you should be halving your rank at absolutely worst, not taking a miserable 25% off. You know for every 9 returning player game there’s a 1 or 2 player returning game around the corner and that’s going to sting you negatively more than you’ve just gained.

While it may look like a decent green arrow I can not under emphasise my disappointment in where I am after the gameweek. It really looked like it was going to be my season corner turned but it’s ended up nothing of the sort. Just another easily reversible small green arrow.

To make matters worse, I also only moved from 95 points away from the top 50k last week to 85 points away. A pretty miserable 10 points closer. At 1 point I was in the 60’s away.

As my mum used to say there’s no point in crying over spilt milk (although looking up the page it looks like I already have cried way more than is warranted!)

Transfer thoughts

2 free transfers and £1.3m in the bank

With Fulham and WBA in the next 4 it’s time to get Salah back in the team.

Prior to this week my plan was to get him in at the expense of Bruno Fernandes. While I have been a vocal sceptic of Penandes the last 3 games he’s played he has been fantastic and he is one of the strongest template players at the moment so I think transferring him out is a major risk.

However I would like to stick with 2 captain options in Salah and De Bruyne rather than have 3 players over £10m when I don’t use 1 as a primary captain option. So I may just brave it and take him out.

My alternative strategy is to take out Vardy for Bewster, Bissouma for Salah and Van Aanholt for a £4.6m defender. That would cost me 4 points but would keep Fernandes. The alternative to that would be to bring in Brewster for Vardy, Salah for Bissouma and Calvert Lewin for Watkins/Wilson. That seems the less attractive option even though Calvert Lewin’s fixtures are about to stiffen and Chelsea is an excellent exit point

2 transfer options

Option 1: Vardy out Brewster in, Bissouma out Salah in, Van Aanholt out Dallas in. I fear price changes will mean this can’t happen

Option 2: Vardy out Brewster in. Bissouma out Salah in. Calvert Lewin out Wilson/Watkins in

My preference at the moment is option 1. I don’t want Van Aanholt and even though Calvert Lewin’s fixtures are tricky I would rather retain him that Van Aanholt.

I’m not going to make a transfer until later in the week I think. I’ll keep an eye out for potential price changes through FPL statistics. Obviously if I do make an early transfer I will post it on the site

Captains and Lineups

Captain is likely to be Salah once transferred in.  Lineup will depend on the transfers made.

Hope your gameweek went well
