fantasy premier league teams GW26 – some early thoughts on the FFGeek team

So with my team selection article coming tomorrow it seems a bit overkill to do it but I then thought I may as well

Gameweek 25

GW25 points: 90 (average 65) Total points 1,506, Gameweek rank 672k, Overall Rank: 77k, green arrow 36k, Team Value: £102.7m

Here’s the link to my GW25 team selection article if you’re interested

Here’s the points

A good week with a 36k green arrow.   An OR improvement to 77k OR.

7 returning players above my minimum of 5, although in reality the gameweek was about Aguero and Hazard. That meant a gameweek rank of 672k better than the target of 1 million

The non template scoreboard

The Template players I have are Doherty, Wan Bissaka, Salah, Richarlison and Rashford.  They tend to have a minimal effect on your rank.

So as you can see the template beat me again but Hazard and my captain of Aguero plus an unexpected 8 points from Foster outweighed that

Barnes also scored again although he was lucky Wood was off the pitch when the penalty was given but unlucky in that he should really have scored a couple.

Sane was a disappointment but given how he was heavily captained then it may not have even been a negative

The team planner

The team planner assumes I do the transfer of Aguero out and Aubameyang in.

I won’t do the transfer until tomorrow but there is a hiccup in that Emery in his press conference has said Aubameyang is sick but should be ok for GW26.

GW26 prospects

The prospects don’t look a little tough.  2 players with odds under £2.00 although 3 would be ideal.  2 players over £3.00 where I would prefer to have none.

The template replacements of Sane for Pogba and Kolasinac for the Liverpool defence have an up hill task so overall it could be a tough week.

Transfer thoughts

1 free transfers £0.0m in the bank

The Aubameyang sickness news isn’t helpful but at the moment that’s my planned transfer.  His 3 fixtures of Huddersfield A, Southampton H and Bournemouth H are just too good to pass up.

Alternatively I have the exact money for Sane out and Mane in which would fit with my current blank GW31 plan.

Blank GW27

Man City, Everton, Chelsea and Brighton have blanks in GW27.

I have Aguero, Sane, Richarlison and Hazard plus Morgan not being selected.  With 2 transfers I should be able to get a full team out.

Who I’m taking out next week is next weeks problem at the moment because I’m just not sure.

The future blanks and doubles

If you haven’t seen my latest article on the blanks and doubles then here’s the link.  There’s also Rob Reid’s plan if you no longer have a wildcard

So remember the likely doubles and blanks are:

GW27 Blank EFL Cup final

GW31 Blank FA Cup quarters

GW32 Potential Double gameweek

GW33 blank FA Cup Semis

GW35 potential double gameweek

Here are some of the options being floated about if you have a full set of Chips at the moment

My plan at the moment is option 2.  However the 5th round FA Cup results and quarter final draw means that all options are open.

There are 5 teams with fixtures guaranteed in both GW31 and GW33.  These are Bournemouth, Burnley, Huddersfield, Leicester and Liverpool. You can see in the planner how I’m thinking about how I could get there.

Following that line would give me 9 players (although Morgan who has lost his place is 1 of those 9) in BGW31.

However the 5th round FA Cup games (between GW26 and GW27) could give us more options which is why I’m ok with 9.

If you’re wanting to do some transfer planning then use Joseph Crilleys natty little google spreadsheet

Lineup decisions

No problem deciding on who to bench. The 3 of Mee, Hojbjerg and Morgan are pretty obvious.

Captain choice

Vote in our captain poll

I’m likely to go for Salah at home to Bournemouth rather than Aubameyang at Huddersfield.  I will do a captain analysis article on Friday though.

Team lineup

Here’s how the team lines up.  Assume Aguero is Aubameyang for the moment.

  1. 90 a decent score Geek.
I had a nice 115 point haul this week. Aguero captain with Luiz and Laporte combining for 33 points between them helping my rank hugely. Went from 36k up to 11k. All good fixtures this week bar Laporte and hoping Auba is fine as I really want to bribg him in, looking for another green arrow.

  2. Thx for the Auba sick tip. That is worth monitoring. If he misses Hud then it is only two great fixtures not two.. he also may have two Europa games in between them. The play is still 98% Auba from Aguero for most of us but if he does mis that Hud game in a press confession my attention will be to swap either Rich to Madison/Fraser/etc. or Digne to Maguire, etc. One week earlier and wait a week to decide. Also, after Newcastle, Aguero has scored more goals against che than any other team.. so it isnt the end of the world. Missing Auba Hud would just be a pity.

Also, if he did miss the game and we are informed; I think a bold move could be swapping Aguero instead to Vardy for the better blank coverage.. maybe.. not 100%. Im not bringing in a sick player that doesnt have blank games though this game week at least.

    • Hi Wilson

It may depend on what happens with the 5th round results of the FA Cup and how I deal with the blanks and doubles but something like Mane, Son, Pogba or Jota at the cheaper end.

See my midfield player rankings article which should help. Good luck this week

    • 3 possibles. Either hope Chelsea get through to the FA Cup semis and an extra double is required, or hope the weather provides one or lastly Salah home to Huddersfield in GW36. cheers and good luck this week

  3. Anyone else slightly concerned that Aguero could continue his form and bag against Chelsea?

And that therefore Son could be the better target for this gameweek, with Richarlison making way. [If funding is an issue sell a defender to fund it].

  4. Rob. Yes Amigo. Auba with two Europa’s and a mistery illness is fueling a bit of hesitation in the switch too.

The transfer scarcity is something I don’t want to mess with too much. While Hudersfield is a sexy fixture, Aguero form is a decent consolation prize for one more week of clarity on that illness (15 days until that next Southampton game for Auba is a long way away)..

  5. Rob.. I also want to shift Rich but I already have Son so dont really know who to bring in. Anderson could be an option but I am short 0.2m and am not taking a -4. Jota another option but I have 3 wolves players. I dont like Maddison or Fraser right now. So I really need to do Aguero to Auba, or Luiz to Kolasinac/Perreria maybe.

  6. Well played geek. Big green arrow rof your team, got to be pleased with that. Excellent work with this site, thank you.

Now it gets more difficult, Aubameyang? I don’t think he cares about being sick. He’s been dreaming about the Huddersfield defence every night.
