fantasy premier league teams GW30 – some early thoughts on the FFGeek team
GW29 points: 30 (average 40) Total points 1,678, Gameweek rank 5,322k, Overall Rank: 168k, red arrow 40k, Team Value: £102.8m
Here’s the link to my GW29 team selection article if you’re interested.
The GW29 points:
Well I managed to follow up the worst gameweek of the season last week with my 2nd worst this week and the 2nd consecutive week with a gameweek rank of over 5 million.
I’ve somehow managed to add 100k to my OR in the last 2 weeks and are now 168k OR.
Only 3 returning players (minimum 4) and again the worst captain pick.
The non template scoreboard
Again the template beat be this time by 11 points and the differentials couldn’t pick up the slack.
Hazard was a bitter disappointment with 76 mintes and only the assist. Rashford and Aguero also with blanks against good opposition.
Pogba missing the penalty turned a potential 14 points without bonus to -2 plus depriving Rashford of the assist was just the icing on the cake really.
Yedlin losing his place to Manquillo seemingly is unhelpful considering he had played virtually every game up to when I transferred him in.
The team planner and transfer thoughts
1 transfer and £0.3m in the bank.
I haven’t assumed a transfer at the moment as I’m not sure what I’m going to do.
Here’s the team planner without any transfer factored in:
So the prospects this week don’t look good at all with 7 of my 14 man squad playing a top 6 team.
Three of the sides with guaranteed fixtures in GW31 and GW33 have good fixtures and are therefore ideal targets for this gameweek. Bournemouth are at Huddersfield, Leicester are home to Fulham and West Ham are at Cardiff. The problem is raising funds to get these players without selling Pogba (who I can’t sell after just buying him) wouldn’t be easy.
Raising the cash for Vardy after selling Rashford would be difficult as it requires £1.3m. Getting one of Leicester players in midfield would involve selling Richarlison which would deplete my numbers for GW31 or selling Pogba.
I could downgrade Rashford to Josh King which would give me £1.2m and just about enough cash to buy Harvey Barnes of Leicester for Hojbjerg. Which is an option.
My non GW31 players are Foster, Doherty, Wan Bissaka, Pogba, Hojbjerg, Rashford and Aguero. I can’t bring myself to sell Pogba or Aguero. Doherty and Wan Bissaka are tricky buy backs due to the value tied up in them. That leaves few options for this week.
Probably the most obvious transfer is Foster out for Fabianski.
I am willing to take at least a -4 to get a player who plays in GW31 and GW33 as without hits the most I can field is 9 players. A hit would pay for itself if it gives me 2 games I wouldn’t otherwise have. It’s just who and how I need to think about more.
So it’s a case of watch this space.
Again if Aguero looks like he will play and depending on the polls then he is my likely candidate. City don’t play this week and then they have a game against Schalke when surely Jesus could start. The alternative is Salah.
In absence transfers then Doherty, Mee and Hojbjerg are the most likely to sit on the bench. The decision really is between Barnes and Doherty.
Here it is without any transfers assumed:
Articles this week
There will be a full set subject to time to write them including a captain poll at some point.
All seem to be resolved, fingers crossed, after changing hosting companies.
Hope you had a good gameweek.
