Here’s the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships for GW22 ie the most transferred in and most transferred out players for the up coming gameweek
The Bandwagons
Fellaini
He was sold strongly by over 550k fantasy premier league managers after his suspension losing £0.5m in value to £7.4m now. He’s the leader of the overall shooting stats although the stats have weakened recently and the suspension took him off the last 6. Returned away to Newcastle and although played in the advanced midfield role and returned an assist he didn’t produce any underlying stats of note. Still with ok fixtures as follows
12 Jan 15:00 | Gameweek 22 | Swansea (H) |
21 Jan 20:00 | Gameweek 23 | Southampton (A) |
30 Jan 19:45 | Gameweek 24 | West Brom (H) |
02 Feb 15:00 | Gameweek 25 | Aston Villa (H) |
10 Feb 16:00 | Gameweek 26 | Man Utd (A) |
23 Feb 15:00 | Gameweek 27 | Norwich (A) |
He’s still a good transfer for me given his position on the shooting stats and return to an advanced position although I would concentrate on sorting your players for the double game weeks of GW22 and GW23 first.
Suarez
Leader in all categories on the shooting and chances created stats for strikers he’s a no brainer as a purchase. There are a couple caveats for the negative though. Firstly his recent form has been on the back of pretty much the best fixtures of any team and those fixtures are alot harder coming up. Secondly there’s the talk of Sturridge playing through the middle from Rodgers. This really seems a stretch for me and Rodgers has also talked about Sturridge needing time to get to match fitness. I just cant see Rodgers wanting to risk the effectiveness of a striker thats 2nd only to RVP at the moment for quality and I’m bankng on common sense prevailing. I mean would SAF put Herandez through the middle and RVP on the flank? Still a good transfer for me if you already haven’t got him but again you should be looking at your GW22 and GW23 players
Ba
In my mind the 3rd best striker in the league behind RVP and Suarez. Should flourish in front of Mata, Hazard and Moses, the only question is game time. 4-2-3-1 only has 1 striker and Benitez wont abandon Torres or the system so rotation seems inevitable. The dream scenario for those taking this punt is that Torres plays the league cup, FA Cup and the Europa League (Ba is cup tied anyway at least for the Europa league) and Ba plays in the premier league but that’s a bit of a stretch. Showed what he can do against Southampton . Ba is a great striker to buy him is just a leap of faith in the rotation department
The Sinking Ships
Tevez
This I don’t understand or agree with. He maybe an easy sacrifice in your wildcards but with Aguero suffering a serious hamstring tear he’s pretty much nailed on to play virtually all games now for some time. Dzeko is cheaper although more prone to rotation with Ballotelli. He also may have not returned in his last 3 starts and then not started the last 2 but the stats have been there he’s just been unlucky not too finish. With City starting to turn things around on the attacking front and game time secure I would be keeping faith with Tevez.
Defoe
Has struggled with 1 return in his last 6 and stats have been very hit and miss and he’s fallen off the last 6 shooting stats. I personally don’t think playing with Adebayor has suited him and he was better playing up front by himself. However, in the short term Adebayor still may go to ACON so I wouldn’t abandon him just yet. Fixtures aren’t great though although the away game to QPR promises some returns depending on which QPR turns up
YYT
I don’t understand why people own him myself. Plays too deep and doesn’t regularly shoot and when he does from too much distance. Also off to ACON a definite sell in my mind.
Hope that gives you something to think about for your wildcard.
