fantasy premier league – the early week bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the GW23 fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships, ie the most transferred in and out fantasy premier league players for the week

The most transferred in

Fellaini

Interesting one this before a double game week involving Arsenal.  I can only assume that everyone has put their fantasy premier league Arsenal assets in their team in the January wildcard for the most transferred in player not to be an Arsenal player.  Since coming back from a 3 match ban he’s obviously been picking up the ownership lost due to that ban although I have to say both games against opposition you would expect him to do better against produced little in the way of underlying stats.   Although he did get an assist and 3 rather dubious bonus points for what I saw of the Swansea game.  I put him in my wildcard team mainly due to the fact that he remains the midfielder with the best overall shooting stats but he’s certainly not carried that on since being back. This weeks game away to Saints is a reasonably tricky one as well.  He’s on a monitor list for me and if I didn’t already have him I may just be looking at his performances before jumping to buy him.  MONITOR

Walcott

With Cazorla not firing and Giroud’s game time not certain Walcott is the obvious captain choice in this Arsnal double game week 23 and although I intend to do a captain article he’s my immediate pick.  Playing up front but classified as a midfielder in an attack that can stutter but can also easily fire in 4 or 7 goals then he’s the natural pick for the double game week captain.  He also top of the last 6 midfield shooting stats  and 7th overall but with the lowest amount of games of the top 10 players.  A definite BUY for me

Lukaku

The ridiculously talented teenager looks finally to have nailed a starting spot and what better time to purchase him that home to the defence that’s falling apart away from home ie Aston Villa.  He’s 5th in the last 6 shooting stats and 9th overall despite heavy rotation.  With Shane Long only given 50% chance of playing and his incredible performance in the game against Reading with 2 goals and hitting the post twice he’s really coming to prominence.  Only problem is the fixtures, he’s 5th place in the last 6 shooting stats on the back of what was the 4th easiest schedule at the time and now he enters the 17th most difficult schedule with 3 very difficult away games.  Here’s the list

19 Jan 17:30Gameweek 23Aston Villa (H)
30 Jan 19:45Gameweek 24Everton (A)
03 Feb 13:30Gameweek 25Tottenham (H)
11 Feb 20:00Gameweek 26Liverpool (A)
23 Feb 15:00Gameweek 27Sunderland (H)
02 Mar 15:00Gameweek 28Chelsea (A)

No easy, but the choices in this price range (£6.5m) aren’t easy with Benteke in a team in freefall and Dzeko perhaps threatened if Aguero is back as early as predicted.  However such is his talent and that he seems to have secured his spot that he’s still a BUY for me.

Gone to the ACON so no surprise there.  Not worth holding on to a definite SELL for me

Defoe

Only 1 return in the last 7 its no wonder people have lost faith.  The stats aren’t good either and he’s not in the last 6 shooting stats.  Adebayor seems to have become the focal point and he has now appeared in the last 6 shooting stats and the last 6 chances created stats so becomes the natural Spurs forward of choice.  however, Adebayor has now gone to ACON so if youre holding him there’s reason to think a short term up turn is on the way.  however the fixtures arent that easy with the Newcastle home game the only obvious steam rolling opportunity in GW26.  Here they are:

20 Jan 16:00Gameweek 23Man Utd (H)
30 Jan 19:45Gameweek 24Norwich (A)
03 Feb 13:30Gameweek 25West Brom (A)
09 Feb 12:45Gameweek 26Newcastle (H)
25 Feb 20:00Gameweek 27West Ham (A)
02 Mar 15:00Gameweek 28Arsenal (H)

Given those fixtures its probably a SELL for me even with the potential positive affect of Adebayor going to ACON

Torres

The only real advantage of having Torres before Ba was bought is that you knew there was no other option to start up front. With Mata, Hazard and Oscar you would think that even Torres  could score a reasonable amount of goals.  Given that the double game week for Chelsea has gone and now Torres, even with Abramovich desperate to get some return on his £50m, will be subject to rotation then there really is no point in holding him.  I would SELL irrespective of what happens in the Saints game

hope that gives you something to think about for fantasy premier league GW23
