fantasy premier league tips – the FFGeek team draft 4

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Only 2 days to go before the season starts.  The team is taking shape but there’s a few changes.  Obviously there’s alot going on in the transfer market too and with injuries changing things the transfers below are a reaction to that

So 3 changes to the FFGeek team.  Not with the core of the team but around the edges and a reaction to some of the transfer activity.

So here are the changes:

£6.0 C Palace  forward Wickham out – £6.5m Burnley forward Andre Gray in

The Benteke to Palace rumours keep rumbling on and that would be the end of Wickham.  So I had to change.  Benteke at £7.5m would be a good option given some reasonable fixtures and Palace’s style would suit him.  However that would mean some major surgery to the team to find £1.5m and that for me just isn’t worth it.

Gray or Negredo were my choices as a replacement but as I’ve got Fischer in so I went for Gray.  Excellent pre-season and the Championships golden boot last year so worth a gamble especially after his excellent pre-season.

The Llorente transfer to Swansea given the fixtures of Burnley and Hull first up looked a good option but his late arrival and the proposed transfer of Baston who scored 19 goals and 4 assists last year for Eibar has confused matters so I’ve had to leave that

£4.5m Sunderland defender Kone out – £4.0m Swansea defender Amat in

Unfortunately £0.5m had to be found somewhere for the Gray transfer.  Kone looks set to go to Everton and with Williams, Jagielka and Funes Mori there it’s hard to know if he will start.  If I thought he would then he would definitely stay.  Amat looks like he will start for Swansea but when Fernadez comes back (he has no return date as yet) then the chances are he will lose his place. However he is the only option to make the cash up.

£4.5m Stoke defender Pieters out and £4.5m WBA defender McAuley in

I’m not wild on doubling up in defence especially as I have no fixed plans to Wildcard in GW3 but the Stoke, Middlesboro and Swansea rotation just didn’t work with too many games with all 3 at home or away.  So at least WBA have a good defence and good fixtures.  I’d rather them than having to go to Bournemouth, Hull or Burnley who I have little faith in.  I could have gone back to Watford but I have little faith that I could pick a 100% nailed defender now with Cathcart injured.

Amat and a doubling up of the WBA defence isn’t ideal.  I haven’t got a fixed plan to Wildcard after GW3 games start but the last thing I want to do is waste transfers messing about with the £4.5m defence rotation.  So not ideal and I can see more cogitating on this

What else is going on?

Well the rest of the team seems settled but like everyone I imagine,  I’m having wobbles on certain players

Delle Alli vs Eriksen is one.  Alli’s stats are so good which is very attractive but I’m sticking with Eriksen who I’ve been championing.  I think the off season rest will be beneficial and him having set pieces will also help.

Firmino vs Mane.  Firmino has risen to prominence alot due to Sturridges injury.  However Mane has great shots on target stats and has alot of attraction.  However, he’s very streaky and at times looks like he couldn’t hit a barn door.  Plus a new team.  Therefore I’ve stuck with Fermino though as the safer choice.

Otherwise I’m staying with the team.  Ibrahimovic is solely about ownership and the problems he will cause if he starts well and is a captain option.

Hazard is about fixtures and history plus a captain option in the first 6 fixtures but his last season form and potential loss of pens to Oscar doesn’t sit well with me.

No questions in my mind with the rest of the team of Aguero, Stones, Shaw and Foster.
