Introduction
I’m now only using 21/22 stats. There’s only 8 games so it is a bit volatile and subject to previous fixtures and injuries. I’ve made adjustments to some teams but mainly left them alone. Possibly the major surprise is the form of Brentford this season
The strength of the defence or attacking teams are based on the averages of their expected goals for/against and their actual goals for/against with a general adjustment for home and away. . The teams are then divided up into 5 colours of 8 home/away teams each.
Player values and PPMs are as of Monday 18 October. The article was written before Arsenal v C Palace
A fixture ease schedule for attacking players
Here’s a graphic where the teams are ranked by the ease of the defences they face over the upcoming gameweeks. There’s attacking player suggestions below.
Attacking player stats from teams with the best fixtures
Here I’ve picked out the 4 teams with the best fixtures. They are Brentford, Chelsea, Wolves and Southampton
Brentford
£6.4m Fwd Toney – PPM 4.1
£5.5m Mid Mbeumo – PPM 3.6
Chelsea
As I said last week, the rotation of the midfield and in particular the attacking midfield makes it very difficult to pick anyone other than Lukaku with anything remotely resembling certainty
£11.7m Fwd Lukaku – PPM 4.4
Wolves
£7.6m Fwd Jimenez – PPM 3.4
Southampton
Only Ward Prowse who’s suspended. Otherwise too much lineup tinkering
A fixture ease schedule for defenders and GKs
Here’s a graphic where the teams are ranked by the ease of the attacking teams they face over the upcoming gameweeks. There’s defender and GK suggestions below.
Defender and GK player stats
Here I’ve picked out the 4 teams with the best fixtures. They are Leeds, Brentford, Chelsea and Newcastle
Leeds
GK Meslier £5.0m – PPM 2.8
Def Llorente £4.5m – PPM 4.5
Brentford
GK Raya £4.6m – PPM 4.0
Def Pinnock £4.6m – PPM 5.0
Chelsea
You need to accept rotation unfortunately. Azpilicueta has started 7 of the 8. Chilwell has started the last 2. Christensen has started 6 of the 8
Def £6.1m Azpilicueta – PPM 5.2
Def £5.7m Chilwell – PPM 11.5
Def £5.1m Christensen – PPM 5.7
GK Mendy £6.1m – PPM 5.6
Newcastle
No defender worth having except £4.0m Manquillo as a funding option. There will inevitably be new manager risk soon
