Here’s my fantasy premier league tips gameweek 37 and 38 best picks. With only 2 games to go it seemed a bit of a waste to give picks just for 1 game week
- Hart
- £6.9 Reading A and Norwich H
- defensive rank 5 fixture ease 1
- My theory with City is the best team will play in the FA Cup final and with City only needing a point to be certain of 2nd place there will be mass rotation for the first midweek game, especially in defence. With Pantmillon playing in the FA Cup then it seems certain that Hart will play both games
- Robles
- £4.0 Arsenal A Villa H
- Defensive ranking 10 fixture ease 9
- Hard to see any clean sheets with the defensive injuries and the fiasco that was the home game to Swansea but still one of the cheapest playing keepers.
- Dawson
- £4.4 Stoke A Sunderland H
- Defensive ranking 9 Fixture ease 3
- Have struggled to get clean sheets despite good underlying stats. However, at this value, playing 2 of the worst attacking sides in the premier league then there has to be a chance of a clean sheet
- Clyne
- £4.1 Sunderland A Stoke H
- Defensive ranking 11 fixture ease 2
- Same poor attacking teams as spurs in a different order. Southampton have really shown some defensive mettle recently especially evidenced in the Spurs game. Clyne is a guaranteed starter with good attacking potential
- Sagna
- £4.7 Wigan H Newcastle A
- Defensive ranking 4 fixture ease 6
- potential for 2 clean sheets here and Sagna is great value with good attacking prospects. There will be no rotation with Arsenal desperate to secure a top 4 place
- Jones
- £5.6 Swansea H WBA A
- Defensive ranking 1 fixture ease 4
- Suspension to Rafael plus rotation, and ability to play in midfield coupled with lack of gametime during the year should make Jones one of the more certain starters for the remaining 2 games
- Carragher
- £5.0 Fulham A QPR H
- Defensive ranking 3 fixture ease 7
- With Agger injured then you’ve got to give him a good chance of playing both games. Good chance of 2 clean sheets and shoud at least get 1
- Walcott
- £8.9 Wigan H Newcastle A
- stats ranking 5 fixture ease 6 last 3 games return 24 points
- Wont play central striker but now returning to rack up some good underlying stats and returns. A must have in my mind
- Bale
- £10.7 Stoke A Sunderland H
- stats ranking 1 fixture ease 3 last 3 games return 24 points
- Not as convincing last 2 games but still a must have irrespective of fixtures
- Fellaini
- £7.2 West Ham H Chelsea A
- stats ranking 2 fixture ease 17 last 3 games return 8 points
- Difficult fixtures but advanced position or not he seems to have mastered the art of getting shots in the box.
- Nolan
- £6.1 Everton A Reading H
- stats ranking 3 fixture ease 5 last 3 games return 18 points
- Making a real comeback with his presence in the box and helped by the return of his drinking buddie Carroll. Its the reading fixture that’s the attraction
- Coutinho
- £6.8 Fulham A QPR H
- stats ranking 11 fixture ease 7 Last 3 games returns 16
- early form suggested a assist based midfielder only but has linked nicely with Sturridge and shown good shooting stats. Good fixtures and despite some rotation talks should play both games
- Van Persie
- £13.3 Swansea H WBA A
- stats ranking 1 fixture ease 4 Last 3 games returns 27
- The SAF send off at home tomorrow plus the Rooney transfer request should mean a start for RVP home to Swansea. That’s all you need to know. Back with a vengeance
- Dzeko
- £6.8 Reading A Norwich H
- stats ranking 3 fixture ease 1 Last 3 games returns 12 points
- I’m assuming that Tevez and Aguero will start the Cup final and that means Dzeko will get the nod in the Reading game and will have a half chance of playing home to Norwich. Even without the Norwich start he’s pretty effective off the bench.
- Carroll
- £8.2 (Everton A Reading H)
- stats ranking 4 fixture ease 5 Last 3 games returns 11
- Again a transfer for the Reading home game as opposed to the tricky away to Everton. Has underlying stats which suggests goals are just around the corner
- And a few others
- Lampard – Benitez has said he will play against Villa which should mean he wont play in the Europa but then will for the Everton home game. Although he is playing a little deep for me the fiasco defence that is Villa could easily give away a penalty
- Rodwell – Only £4.6m and a good bet to play at least the Reading game. Not the CDM he used to be at Everton but really gets in to the box and has good shot stats
- Lallana – played well forward but yet to get the returns his stats deserves but good chance with 2 good attacking fixtures
- Benteke – can score against anyone. Will play both games
- Sturridge – 2 good fixtures and n good form
