Introduction
This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Sergio Torija
Sergio’s last 3 seasons were 596k, 17k and 21k
GW33+ points: 88 (FPL average 50) Total points 2,045 Gameweek rank 89k, Overall Rank: 7k, green arrow 9k, Team Value: £102.7m
Sergio still has his Triple Captain and Free Hit chips
A much needed good week in my quest for a top 10K finish, the double Spurs clean tonight bringing my inside it for the first time this season, for a big 9K green arrow. Most things worked out right for my team this time, Fernandes, Martial (captain) and Vardy leading the way with big hauls. Particularly pleasing the Vardy one having persevered on him. Also very pleasing the Spurs clean sheet, with maximum bonus for my two players Aurier and Lloris. And despite being in my team, Salah and De Bruyne being quiet probably also helped rankwise.
Moving onto GW34+, once more the set of fixtures looks in paper very good for my team, so again have big benching decisions to make. In particular, which 3 of my defenders to play. Doherty has to stay even if only as cover, I still keep faith in Maguire, and the third will be Kiko Femenia with Watford home to Norwich, but it was close with Cresswell home to Burnley, and Aurier vs Bournemouth (I still have Spurs defence with Lloris).
As for transfers, again with 2 frees I need to use at least the one, and I haven’t dwelled much on it this time. Foden in for Saint-Maximin, not that I was unhappy with the latter performances, but Newcastle fixtures toughen up and Foden has been great, and given the benching on the weekend, he should start coincidentally home against Newcastle. Going big on City with KDB captain as well, Fernandes as vice.
I could even think about using my triple captain, but I think I will hold for now.
Good luck everyone !
Transfer Summary: Saint Maximin OUT Foden in
Here’s the team with the transfer completed.
Chris Tucker
Chris’s last 2 seasons overall rank were 17k and 1k
GW33+ points: 51 (FPL average 50) Total points 2,004 Gameweek rank 3,510k, Overall Rank: 28k, red arrow 10k, Team Value: £103.7m
Chris still has his Free Hit chip
Another disappointing gameweek, but this time with a more significant drop in overall rank. Still, I’ve somehow managed to again avoid any real damage in my cash mini leagues.
The first issue I have at the moment is that in the United attack lottery, it feels like I have the wrong numbers. Although Rashford has picked up points in recent weeks, he has been outscored by Martial and Greenwood. But it’s not so much the numbers that concern me but the deeper position that Rashford seems to adopt compared to the other two. Greenwood certainly seems to represent much better value at present, and would enable investment elsewhere.
The second issue is that, put simply, my midfield is not strong enough. I’ve been disappointed that Mason Mount seems to have less set piece responsibility than earlier in the season, while he is another that is playing deeper than I would like. I am looking enviously at others with the likes of Pulisic and Mahrez as their fourth choice midfielder.
With this in mind, there is a nagging voice in my head telling me to be reckless and take a -8, replacing Mount, Saka and Rashford with Foden, Pulisic and Greenwood. Sometimes I do think a hit or two is necessary to turn FPL fortunes around.
However, I would say that it’s more likely I will stick to just using my one free transfer, with Mount becoming Foden. The other changes can probably wait until subsequent gameweeks.
I haven’t yet decided on De Bruyne vs Fernandes for the captaincy but currently have it on the latter. It’s the later kick off that is swaying me at the moment.
Good luck to you all.
Transfer summary: Likely Mount OUT Foden in
Here’s the team prior to any transfers:
Costas Chari
Costas’s last 3 seasons overall ranks were 84k, 29k and 27k
GW33+ points: 64 -4 = 60 (FPL average 50) Total points 1,980 Gameweek rank 1,527k, Overall Rank: 54k, red arrow 7k, Team Value: £103.3m
Costas has used all his chips
It was always going to end up with a red arrow when you pick the wrong out of the 2 most popular captains. To be honest, escaping with a just 7k red arrow isn’t the end of the world.
I am a bit worried however with the Liverpool appearance. I think they were even worse than against City. Hence I have transferred out Salah for De Bruyne. My experiment the last 3 gameweeks to get Son in for De Bruyne backfired as Son scores 8 points less during these weeks. De Bruyne is the leagues most owned player and will be a captain favourite this week after the rest he had as well so I am sure if I don’t own and captain him I will be looking at a huge red arrow.
I could have made the straight swap from Son as I kept the money in the bank but I will keep him for the Bournemouth game, everyone free hitting will be loading on Kane, Son and Aurier I am guessing so I won’t get him out especially with such a good fixture and low ownership….
…. Watch Salah score a hat trick now.
I have decided to goal all in with just a handful of gameweeks remaining. I am sitting at 54k with no chips left so playing it safe wont get me far. I am willing to risk it a bit and have some fun with it. Its been a crazy year after all. Future transfers will include Digne in for Alexander Arnold and triple City attack (I’ll wait and see the gametime of each player before adding them to avoid rotation although David Silva will definitely be in the squad)
Captain- De Bruyne, he is also the only player playing at home!
Good luck
Transfer Summary: Salah OUT De Bruyne IN
