fantasy premier league transfer tips – The final wrap up of the 10 top FPL managers

Fantasy Premier League, top 10 FPL managers

Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips article where we wrap up the final position of the 10 top FPL managers I follow. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

Introduction

The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.

The 10 managers stats

These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.

1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,800

2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)

3. 3 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons

4. 2 of the 10 have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 seasons

Their basic stats after Sundays GW38+ game are

The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers was 68k. Up 6k from last week

The Median overall rank though is much better. 26k

The average total points are 2,316

The average team value was £104.4m.

The combined total of individual players

There were 7 Free Hit Chips used this week so a list of players would not be representative.

GW38+ Captain Choice

8 Managers chose Sterling

1 chose D Silva and 1 chose De Bruyne

The FFGeek Poll showed 39% were captaining Sterling, 20%  D Silva and 8% Kane.

Wildcards and Chips

All 10 managers have used their 2nd wildcard

10 managers have used their Bench Boost.  3 used it in GW38+

10 have used their Free Hit chip. 7 used it in GW38+

All 10 managers have used their triple captain chip

Other usual headings

I haven’t put in the usual top 10k comparison as the Free Hit distorts the 10 managers teams.

Same for the template and the transfers section

2 managers teams

Best Bench Boost team

This was the manager with the best bench boost points.  His score was an incredible 93 and his final rank 48k

His last season season history was 2k, 58th and 7k

The best Free Hit team

This team had gameweek points of 83.  His overall rank ended up at 9k

His last 3 seasons were 1k,  750th and 9k

I hope you found it useful

I use the 10 top FPL managers mainly to establish the Template for me as well as general strategy.  You can see they averaged in the top 1% of teams at 68k overall rank and the median was even better at 26k.  Just following the template or a tracker team could get you in the top 1%.  I found it useful to see how close the polls predict what the 10 top Managers do in relation to their captain choice as well as where they use their chips.  I also like to see how they compare to the top 10k.  I hope you found it useful over the season and it was a positive influence on how you played FPL.

I’ve put the 10 managers FPL IDs and names on the FFGeek Patreon site if you’re interested in who they are
