Here’s our Free Hit Special fantasy premier league transfer tips GW19 article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

Introduction
The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.
The 10 managers stats
I’ve given the identities and FPL IDs of the 10 FPL managers in the FFGeek Patreon site
It includes our very own Yaniv Salomon who you can follow on twitter here
These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,860
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)
3. 7 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons
4. 1 of the 10 have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 seasons
Their basic stats after GW18 Wednesdays game
There were 6 green arrows and 4 red arrows
The average points score in GW18 so far was39
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers was 128k. That’s 3k worse than last weeks average of 125k
The median overall rank was 47k
The average total points are 1,101.
The average team value was £104.7m.
What the 10 managers did in blank GW18
6 managers played their Free Hit Chip
1 manager played their wildcard
3 played free transfers
For that reason I’ll concentrate on the Free Hit Teams
The Combined Free Hit Team
6 of the 10 managers played their Free Hit. Here’s what a combined team looks like with the most popular players in there.
Here’s the best performing Free Hit team so far
The best performing team so far is our very own FFGeek Contributor Yaniv Salomon (twitter here). Made all the more remarkable as he and his family currently have Covid (but feeling much better I’m told)
He currently has 52 points and his overall rank is 69k. His last 3 seasons overall ranks are 3k, 4k and 8k
Here’s his team:
The Wildcard team
Interestingly 1 manager wildcarded. He’s currently on 55 points with Mitchell to play.
This managers last 3 seasons overall ranks are 8k 7k and 9k
Here’s his team. Not quite sure why he’s set it up this way?
Captain Choice
8 of the 10 managers had De Bruyne as captain
2 of the 10 managers had Kane as captain
The FFGeek Captain poll had 42% De Bruyne and 35% Kane
Formations
4 managers played 3-5-2
3 managers played 3-4-3
2 managers played 5-3-2
1 manager played 4-4-2

I have ten doublers plus Son, Meslier, Dallas, Bamford and Adams.
Three of the doublers are in City v Villa.
Used my Free Hit chip last gameweek.
Should I play my bench boost now or not??
