Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips GW31 article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.
The 10 managers stats
I’ve given the identities and FPL IDs of the 10 FPL managers in the FFGeek Patreon site
It includes our very own Yaniv Salomon who you can follow on twitter here

The top 10k overall rank vs the 10 FPL managers
Here’s a comparison between the top 10k overall rank ownership % and the 10 top FPL managers.
The 10 top managers favour (>30%) Dias, Digne and Son more than the top 10k
The top 10k favour (>20%) Stones more than the 10 top FPL managers
I use the 10 managers as a proxy for serious managers teams and have a basic rule of thumb that if 7 of the 10 managers have a player or a team defence then I will seriously consider getting that player .
Here’s the template on that basis. The difficulty with tracking the template is that you’re 1 game behind it as you obviously can’t see what their transfers are leading up to the gameweek opening.
Villa defence – Martinez
Leeds defence – Dallas
Man City defence – Dias
Brighton defence – Veltman
That’s 11 players. Dallas and Veltman are the bench rotation options. The template is strong at the moment.
One managers team
Here’s the top gameweek point scoring manager this week:
His score for GW30 so far this week is 59. His total points are 1977 and his overall rank is 13k. His team value is £105.9m. His last 3 seasons ranks are 2k, 7k and top 500. He has used his all his chips apart from the wildcard.
He has 10 of the 11 template players mentioned above. He doesn’t have Bamford. His template replacement player for Bamford is Calvert Lewin
The combined 10 top FPL managers teams
Here’s a team which tries to make a combination from the most represented players. Please note that it is meant to be a menu of players to help you choose your transfer rather than a realistic team and it’s value is not necessarily achievable. This week it is achievable at less than £102.0m
