Here’s our fantasy premier league transfer tips GW36 article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

Introduction
The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.
The 10 managers stats
I’ve given the identities and FPL IDs of the 10 FPL managers in the FFGeek Patreon site
It includes our very own Yaniv Salomon who you can follow on twitter here
These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,860
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)
3. 7 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons
4. 1 of the 10 have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 seasons
Their basic stats after GW35 Sunday
There were 7 green arrows and 3 red arrows
The average points score in GW35 after Sunday was 66 net of point deductions for extra transfers.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers is 44k.
The median overall rank was 9k
The average total points are 2,268.
The average team value was £105.9m.
The combined total of individual players
I’ve generally only included where there is a minimum of a player in 3 out of the 10 FPL managers teams
Also the players in the 3 Free Hit teams are NOT included. This is to make the ownership more relevant for going forward in GW36
Goalkeeper/Defence by player
Alexander Arnold is in 9 of the FPL managers teams
Shaw is in 6 of the FPL managers teams
Martinez, Forster and Konsa are in 5 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Mendy is in 3 of the 10 FPL managers teams

Villa are represented 10 times in the 10 FPL managers teams
Liverpool are represented 9 times in the 10 FPL managers teams
Chelsea and Man Utd are represented 7 times in the 10 managers teams
Southampton and Leeds are represented 5 times in the 10 FPL managers teams
Everton are represented 4 times in the 10 FPL managers teams
Palace, Brighton, Leicester, Fulham, and West Ham are represented 3 times in the 10 FPL managers teams

Wildcards and Chips
0 manager used their 2nd wildcard in this gameweek. 10 have now used them in total
0 used their Triple Captain Chip in this gameweek. 10 in total have now used their triple captain chip
2 managers used their Bench Boost Chip in this gameweek. 10 managers in total have used their bench boost
3 managers used their Free Hit Chip in this gameweek. 9 managers in total have used their Free Hit Chip
The top 10k overall rank vs the 10 FPL managers
Here’s a comparison between the top 10k overall rank ownership % and the 10 top FPL managers. A comparison isn’t particularly relevant as my totals dont include the Free Hit teams whereas I suspect the top 10k % does.
The template
I use the 10 managers as a proxy for serious managers teams and have a basic rule of thumb that if 7 of the 10 managers have a player or a team defence then I will seriously consider getting that player .
Here’s the template on that basis. The difficulty with tracking the template is that you’re 1 game behind it as you obviously can’t see what their transfers are leading up to the gameweek opening.
Chelsea defence – Rudiger
Villa defence – Martinez
Liverpool defence – Alexander Arnold
Man Utd defence – Shaw
Salah
Jota
Lingard
Iheanacho
Kane
That’s 9 players. Son dropped out and Shaw came in
The Free Hit teams
Here’s the highest scoring Free Hit team so far with 80. The manager if currently inside the top 1k
Here’s the top scoring non Free Hit team so far
His score for GW35 so far this week is 76. His total points are 2,332 and his overall rank is 1k. His team value is £104.3m. His last 3 seasons ranks are 1k, top 100 and top 100. In my mind he’s the best FPL manager in the world. He has used all his chips.
Interestingly he has only 5 of the 9 template players mentioned above.
His template replacement players are
Mendy for Martinez
Digne for Shaw
El Ghazi for Lingard
Vardy for Kane
The combined 10 top FPL managers teams
Here’s a team which tries to make a combination from the most represented players. Please note that it is meant to be a menu of players to help you choose your transfer rather than a realistic team and it’s value is not necessarily achievable. This week it is not achievable by many at around £107.6m
