Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. Introduction
The criteria I’ve always been looking for is managers who’ve finished in the top 10k for the last 3 years when FPL has become considerably harder due to the amount of people playing and the information available.

The 10 managers stats
I’ve given the identities and FPL IDs of the 10 FPL managers in the FFGeek Patreon site

These managers are incredible and every bit as impressive as last season.
1. The overall average finishing overall rank of the top 10 managers in the last 3 seasons is 3,860
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)
3. 7 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 seasons
4. 1 of the 10 have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 seasons

The average points score in GW7 was 60.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers was 522k. That’s 104k better than last weeks average of 626k
The median overall rank was 352k
The average total points are 425

The top 10k overall rank vs the 10 FPL managers
Here’s a comparison between the top 10k overall rank ownership % and the 10 top FPL managers. You can see there are huge differences in the 3rd column so plenty of places to make ground.
The top 10 managers favour Martinez, Dallas, Chilwell, Calvert Lewin and Lamptey far more strongley than the top 10k
The top 10k favour Zaha, Bamford and Rodriguez more
The template
I use the 10 managers as a proxy for serious managers teams and have a basic rule of thumb that if 7 of the 10 managers have a player or a team defence then I will seriously consider getting that player .
Here’s the template on that basis. The difficulty with tracking the template is that you’re 1 game behind it as you obviously can’t see what their transfers are leading up to the gameweek opening.

That’s 7 players. Grealish is represented 6 times. After that score he may become template especially if Pulisic is still injured
One managers team – UPDATED
Here’s the manager currently 3rd at the moment with 71 points at the end of the gameweek and 437 points overall and a 226k overall rank. His last 3 seasons were 8k, inside the top 500 and 1k.
You can see he has all the template players but also his difference makers in Semedo, Dallas and Grealish all scored highly. Rashford was the only 1 who didn’t.
