Fantasy premier league wildcard teams – the twitter template

Fantasy Premier League

So I thought I’d take a look around twitter to see what some managers with a good FPL history were doing with their fantasy premier league wildcard teams.  Here’s a template from 10 I follow on twitter with some brief commentary from myself.

Fantasy premier league wildcard teams – the twitter template

So for anyone who goes on twitter you’ll know that there are a huge number of FPL twitter accounts.  Some are inactive, some are just for chatting to other managers and some don’t reveal their teams so I’ve had to wade through what feels like hundreds to get 10 who have revealed their wildcard drafts.  Most don’t say whether they have a free hit or not left which I think will fundamentally change your team although I suspect most still have it.

Now I haven’t shown the teams just provided a summary.

Lastly there is some theory going around that the postponement of the quarter final and semi final fixtures will be reversed so 6 matches go to GW37 instead of 4 as I and many others have speculated.  4 will then go to DGW34.  It’s just theory but unless you’re desperate to push the WC button I would personally hold off as the fixtures are supposedly around the corner.  This would change many peoples teams I suspect to some degree and probably how they deal with the chips but that’s not for now.

The template

This isn’t the top picked players.  I’ve adjusted it somewhat to fit into my team value and in fact it’s around £100.5m.  You can see below the number of times players are picked in each team

A few comments

Firstly no surprises with De Gea, Morgan, Burnley, Son, Mahrez, Willian, Salah and Aubameyang.  I could easily see me having all those players

A little surprised that Firmino is in every draft.  It could be hedging as people will have a lot of value tied up but still.

The player’s I’m a little unsure over are Van Der Hoorn who I’m not sure would stay in the side if the manager changed to a back 4.  Smalling has played a number of games but if Jones was fit would he start?  I’d like to see some proof.  The 2 Brighton players have tricky fixtures which is what would concern me.
