FPL 2020-2021: Potential Fantasy Team Summer Signings for Next Season

Although there are still are a number of months left until the conclusion of the 2019-2020 Premier League campaign, a handful of the savviest FPL managers are already beginning to cast their eye towards next season. With Euro 2020 set to dominate the summer months, the window for transfer activity is likely to be slightly shorter than usual, however, there should still be plenty of intriguing incomings and outgoings throughout July and August. A number of top-flight sides will already be plotting raids on various EFL Championship clubs this summer and we could see some of the cream of the crop from the second tier make their move to the Premier League. With this in mind, we take a look at some of the future stars who may prove to be incredibly useful additions next season.

Eberechi Eze

The Greenwich-born playmaker has caught the eye this season with a series of match-winning displays which have resulted in the 21-year old being heavily linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs including Southampton and Sheffield United. With QPR not expected to mount a promotion bid this season, he is highly likely to be snapped up in the summer. His performances can occasionally be a little erratic, which is unlikely to make him captain material, however he should prove to be a useful squad player. His statistics are very impressive with eleven and six assists in his first 33 appearances as well as averaging 2.4 shots per game. He isn’t afraid to run at defenders and is currently clocking up around 3.1 dribbles per game. He should get plenty of opportunities next season if he is given the freedom to shine, and is unlikely to be particularly expensive despite potentially commanding a £20 million price tag.

Matheus Pereira

The Brazilian midfielder has been one of the most consistent performers in the second tier so far this season and he will be desperately hoping to help guide West Brom back to the Premier League. As of February 20, Slaven Bilic’s side are 11/10 with Betway to finish top of the Championship this year and Pereira’s arrival has certainly helped them tick in the final third. He is currently on loan from Sporting Lisbon although reports suggest that the Baggies are close to finalising a deal. If the 23-year old finds himself in the top flight next season, he could prove a superb addition to any FPL squad. He has racked up sixteen assists in just 2269 minutes and has a pass success percentage of 81.3%. His vision is arguably his greatest asset and he’ll be looking to unlock a number of Premier League defences next season. He could prove particularly useful when the Baggies face fellow bottom-half opposition and is likely to be relatively inexpensive. Pereira may be a bit of a wildcard pick, however his inclusion could ultimately prove to be a masterstroke.

There are a number of Championship hotshots who would make very affordable FPL squad players next season. However, these three standout performers appear destined to make it to the top tier of English football in the next twelve months, and this talented trio is unquestionably worth including on any fantasy transfer shortlists this summer.

Said Benrahma

The 24 year Algerian winger or attacking midfielder has been one of the main reasons that Brentford are currently sitting in 4th place in the Championships and are a good possibility for promotion either automatically or through the play offs.

He currently sits with an impressive 9 goals and 6 assists in 25 starts plus 4 as sub this season.  His dream he says is to play in the Premier League where he would join his International colleague Riyad Mahrez.

His all round game is incredibly impressive.  His 3.6 shots per game is more like a top striker but that’s backed up with an also impressive 2.3 key passes per game.  However he also has that abilty to go past players with 3.2 dribbles per game.

If Brentford can get promoted and hold on to him he could be an interesting FPL asset next season
