Ori Gal

Ori’s last 4 seasons overall ranks are 82k, An incredible 243rd, 6k and 4k

GW36 points: 107 (19 Top managers average 99) Total points: 2,293 Overall Rank: 97k, green arrow 27k   Team Value: £105.7m

Ori has used his Triple Captain in GW34 and Wildcard in GW35

2 Gameweeks to go and I am just under 100k with Bench Boost (GW37) and Free Hit (GW38). My goal is still a 50k finish which I am 29 points off.

The reality is that +70% of the top 100k more than likely still have their Bench Boost, so I am not expecting big improvement in rank this week. I will need to do something different in Free Hit GW8 to try and close the gap to the top 50k.

When I Wildcarded a few weeks ago, my plan was to keep 2 free transfers for Double GW37 and to move Gabriel to a DGW player.

Unfortunately this plan now changed with injuries to Schar, Maguire and (potentially) Bruno Fernandes. So I may even need to take a -4 to have 15 players for the Bench Boost.

Replacing Schar, Maguire and Bruno is not an easy choice. I already have triple City, Chelsea, Newcastle.

I plan to bring on Burn for Schar. This is a straight swap.

I am not sure who to bring in for Maguire. There aren’t any defenders I want. I already have Spurs and a Brighton defender and I don’t want to double on either.

I can bring Dalot for Maguire but United look so poor. Or I can go with a single Gameweek player like Branthwaite. I will make this decision later this week.

If Bruno is injured, I may go with Richarlison, Gross, Garnachio (but again, United look so poor)  or a punt on Guimares (but then it means no Burn as I would have too many Newcastle players).

I am not very excited about any of the players I plan to bring in, but I will need to bring them in for the Bench Boost

Transfer Summary: likely Burn, Richarlison, Branthwaite IN Schar, Maguire, Bruno Fernandes OUT. Bench Boost activated

Captain – Haaland. VC – Son.

Here’s the team prior to any transfers taking place

Rick has his Bench Boost left

A decent week that pushed me a little closer to the 100k mark. Like many, I had a tough benching decision to make and I opted to play Gordon over Jackson. After Gordon got his assist it didn’t seem like such a bad call, but Jackson made a point of showing me what an error I’d made. Fortunately Bruno didn’t play, so I benefitted from his points anyway.

Lucky duck

I’m okay with a bit of good luck. I’ve shrugged off enough of the bad kind, after all. That said, the only reason Jackson was on the bench (or in the team to begin with) was because I purposely overloaded myself with quality attackers on Wildcard in preparation for BB. I gave myself dilemmas on who to start, but also – consequently – decent bench options

Did I think for a moment Bruno would miss his first ever match through injury in a bazillion years. No, of course not. But I went into GW36 wholly comfortable should an illness or injury suddenly crop up, as I knew my bench had it covered. Lucky? Definitely. But I prefer to see it as luck by design. Turns out, I also needed Porro from the bench due to the Maguire injury. Again, a great player to have as back-up. Unfortunately, that didn’t go as well.

Bruno missing out may have grabbed me a haul from the bench this week, but the worry is next week. It’s Bench Boost time, so I absolutely have to put out 15 starters. I’ve been plagued with injuries since WC and having Bruno as another doubt isn’t ideal. Thankfully, it seems Ederson has recovered quicker than we thought, but now Maguire is reportedly out for three weeks. That means I already have both him and Van Hecke as non-starters, which makes them priority transfers out before Bench Boost. That’s my two FTs spent, so if Bruno doesn’t recover I’m in Hitsville
