Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.

However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Kris, Kev and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

The reference to 19 top managers is from the article where I follow 19 top FPL managers who have finished in the top 10k overall rank the last 3 seasons.

GW36 review

The quest for a top 1k finish continues. Obstacles keep stacking in my way. I have just moved house and currently don’t have WiFi and cannot watch any of the Premier League matches so I am essentially playing FPL ‘blind’ basing my decisions on articles and support from other Geek contributors and gut feeling.

GW36 went well. Another green arrow. I was expecting some reds after a lot of managers played their wild card in GW35 but I have 5 greens on the bounce. My team is a bit different from the template. For example, I own Saka instead of Foden. The Arsenal lad has returned another double digit haul and is outscoring his Man City rival. My new recruit Gvardiol returned 6 points on his debut without a clean sheet.

In fact the first 10 players of my team all returned.

My other match up is Hojlund against Jackson. Up until they played, I was nestled in the top 800 Overall Rank. Jackson has 45% ownership in the top 1K and it was painful to hear the updates of his 16 point haul. I was not at all surprised that the Man Utd striker failed to score any more than 2 points. So my team’s hard work was undone. Still I rose a couple of hundred places and I am now placed 1158.

So what now ?

I have already activated my Bench Boost chip. I have one free transfer and £3.2m in the bank. I currently have 12 doublers and Branthwaite (home to Sheff Utd).  Gabriel and Saka travel to Old Trafford. One injury concern is Bruno Fernandes. I do not normally worry too much about effective ownership but after the Jackson episode, I am looking carefully where my team’s weaknesses are.

One transfer I will make is Hojlund to Jackson.

To be honest, going without Foden for the double scares me.

If Bruno is ruled out I will sell him for Foden. It will be ironic that I will have taken half of my hits of the season to bring Bruno in and then take him out.

If Bruno is cleared to play both matches, I have a huge dilemma. Man United’s’ defence is poor. Do I sell Saka for a hit to get Foden in?

If I hold him I could use my transfer in GW38 to buy Havertz for Gordon to triple up on Arsenal for their home match against Everton.

It will be an uncomfortable DGW37 if I don’t own Foden.

Captaincy

I can’t see past Haaland after his 4 goal haul. Palmer will be vice

Transfer summary: To be determined. Likely Hojlund OUT and Jackson IN. If Bruno Fernandes is injured Foden IN. Bench Boost activated

A good score and green arrow. My team is pretty template but the 1 differential is my Triple Arsenal Clean Sheet was the reason for the score over and above that template team. With my Bench Boost already used it gave me that latitude.
