Introduction

I’ve experimented this with with the forwards to try and simply the presentation of my player suggestions for GW5 and the gameweeks beyond by suggesting 4 Forwards to transfer in for GW5

Generally I’ll be looking for players with good underlying stats, upcoming fixtures and a good entry point. However there will still be the fixture proof players included

I’ll start with a stats schedule then provide commentary on the 4 players. There’s a fixture ease schedule at the bottom of the article

The stats are generally self explanatory and still based on last season as really not enough data to make an assessment for 21/22 but the xVAL% is a good form guide which shows the % of games played that they have put up underlying stats that are acceptable for their price. Value for money rated their 20/21 season compared to the theoretical FPL points they should have generated from their xG/xA. 10 is the ideal. The higher the better.

The schedule of stats

Ronaldo

Started the season with an excellent 2 goal performance against the defensive disaster of Newcastle. It’s difficult to assess what that means going forward given the opposition but his stats in quality and volume for Juve and Madrid are absolutely mindblowing.

The fixtures aren’t great either but this is about whether you believe his world class quality will provide returns irrespective of fixtures.

Bamford

Bielsa confirmed that Bamford has no injury issues in the press conference today.

Bamford had a very good season last season and he’s not too far off those underlying stats so far this season even if it is just the 1 goal and 1 assist so far in the 4 games

What he does have is a very good set of fixtures to come and an excellent entry point with Newcastle next and likely penalty duties.

Lukaku

3 games and 3 goals with only a 100% return rate potentially spoiled by the need to play Liverpool with 10 men.

It is worth mentioning that despite the hype over the 2 goals vs Villa he did only have 2 shots for those 2 goals.

His stats for Inter were very very good with an NPxG90 of .59 but also a quite handy xA90 of 0.26. He also scored a goal or assist every 82 minutes although that did consist of 6 penalties in 24 goals and 11 assists. I’m unsure so far if those duties will go to him or stay with Jorginho. That’s quite significant.

Up until Spurs collapse v Palace (albeit red card assisted) it might have been prudent to wait for their fantastic GW7 and beyond run after which Chelsea had played Spurs and Man City. However you may feel he’s worth introducing now especially if your team structure is based around 3 premiums.

Jimenez

First 4 games have been blanks and he would possibly not look back at either of the games with any satisfaction underlying stats wise. He’s been shooting alot but not particularly from quality positions.

However this is all about fixtures with Brentford, Southampton and Newcastle next plus the hope that the 19/20 season Jimenez with 17 goals and 7 assists still exists somewhere
