Here’s our FPL gameweek 14 tips article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A bit of a mixed week for the top 10 FPL managers. 6/10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW13 was 55 compared to the game average of 43. That’s 12 points and 28% above the game average score. High score of the 10 was 67. The low score was 44. A very high spread of 23 for a low scoring gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw an improvement to 277k compared to 338k in the last gameweek. An average rank improvement of 61k. The best overall rank is 57k and the lowest 497k. All 10 managers have overall ranks better than 500k.
The average points are 722.
The average value improved from £102.4m to £102.5m
If you’re interested my score was ok at 58 with no point hits and resulted in a 52k green arrow from 148k overall rank to 96k . I had a higher score than 6 of the managers. I’m ahead in OR terms at the moment of 9/10 of the managers. My team value is down though by £0.2m on the last gameweek to £102.3m. My total points is 744. TEAM STRUCTURE OF THE 10 MANAGERS
I won’t update this every week
FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
The celebrity manager we followed last season finished around the 20k mark so he’s not in the group this season. This season were going to focus on the manager each week who had the highest finish last season with an amazing overall rank of 15 believe it or not.
Another good score of 67 for this manager. He was the highest scorer of the 10 and his rank is 152k. An improvement of rank of 178k from last weeks OR of 330k. His points total is 734. He’s the 2nd ranked of the 10 FPL managers. Amazingly he doesn’t own Salah.
THE HIGHEST SCORER
That was the manager above with 67
THE LOWEST SCORER
His score was 44.
The differences here again totally blow my theories on how teams have different scores through narrow margins
Only 4 of the 11 players were the same
As I mention above, I’ve often said that differences in scores in a gameweek come down to 1 of more of the following 3 things normally:
Defence – 1 points difference despite 1 less
Captain – Net 7 points difference as both teams had both captains
A few attackers – Sterlings 13 points was the main difference with 12 points over Silva. Hazard over Salah and RLC over Zaha made up the other 3
So very different teams again although Sterling made up half the difference with the majority of the rest being the captain difference
