The schedule
The schedule uses 20/21 stats only.
The teams are ranked by defensive strength over the season only
You can access the google spreadsheet here
Player values and stats were as of Tuesday 27 April
Possible transfer targets for GW34
Read my early team thoughts article for a bit more info on the potential double GW35 and blank GW36. You could see how the fixtures could look in the fixture ease schedule below
The criteria is teams with reasonable defences with a good entry point and fixtures to the end of the season. Only 2 teams fit the criteria this week but I’ve added Chelsea as well.
Everton
I don’t think Everton is the most solid defence that’s for sure but the extra fixture with no blank is quite helpful. Digne for me is the best albeit the most expensive option at £6.1m.
Thren it gets tricky. I would probably say £5.1m Keane but he’s an injury doubt.
£5.0m Godfrey has only missed 1 game in the last 13 and £4.8m Holgate has played all 13 but they both feel like they are fill in specialists.
Again, I said in my early team thoughts article that I will probably go with Holgate as my transfer this week
Arsenal
£4.2m Holding is the best option for me as he has no real competition for the right sided centre back position. After that there’s only the GK in Leno as the other positions are subject to rotation
Have a potential DGW35 but a blank in GW36.
Chelsea
Chelsea don’t have great fixtures even in a potential DGW35 but they can get a clean sheet against anyone and Rudiger is cheap at £4.7m. The same price for Christensen at £4.7m who isn’t as safe but his passing is a pretty important bonus for Tuchel. There will be rotation though so beware but neither seem to come on as sub which is helpful
Fulham is a great entry point
Fixture Ease Schedule
Here’s a schedule where the teams are ranked by the easiness of the attacking teams they face over the gameweeks to the end of the season
The Clean Sheet schedule
My schedule tries to focus on the stats that will lead to clean sheets rather than clean sheets themselves but I thought it would be worth while getting the clean sheet schedule from the premier league site
Goalkeeper save %
Here’s another schedule which shows you a goalkeeper save %. It’s not a ranking in itself as you can see there is some correlation between % and clean sheets but does give you some idea of GKs who are good shot stoppers. It’s from the free stats site fbref.com
