Introduction
It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.
However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Pete and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

Week 3 has always been my Achilles heel in fantasy football, and this time was no different. I tried to break the curse by making some bold moves, but unfortunately, it backfired.
I took a -4 hit to bring in Palmer, Rogers, and a 4m defender for Kulusevski, Bruno, and Hall. This move turned out to be somewhat neutral—it gained me 1 point after the hit and I benefited from the price increase of Palmer and Rogers, while avoiding the price drops of Bruno and Kulusevski.
However, the real misstep was captaining Palmer over Haaland. With no Haaland captain and no Salah, Pedro, or Diaz in my squad, I took a significant hit—a painful 1 million red arrow. Definitely not the outcome I was hoping for.
Looking ahead, I’m not thrilled with my current team. I’ve realized the “get Jota and hope he covers Salah” strategy isn’t cutting it. Plus, I really want a Brighton attacker for their next two matches against Ipswich and Forest.
Even though the international break is coming up and injuries could shake things up, I’ve already pulled the trigger on an early transfer to beat price changes: Salah and Pedro in, Saka and Isak out.
I’m not overly excited about my squad (disappointing since it’s only GW3) and might even wildcard if any major injuries occur.
Summary
Transfers – Salah and Pedro IN, Isak and Saka OUT
Captain – Haaland VC – Salah
Here’s the team with the above transfers completed

GW3 Review
Points – 86
Rank Change – 1.84m up to 781k
A great week again for me resulting in a big rank climb. Saturday was grim outside of captain Haaland with both Fulham attackers blanking and Konsa losing his clean sheet late on. Fabianski got injured for 1 point as well. Sunday was a different story. Salah’s 17 points, Trent clean sheet and a goal from Isak and Eze (both getting full bonus) meant only Munoz and Gordon blanked. The max bonus has been a huge factor. Gordon last week and all 4 of my returning attackers received full bonus.
Eze and Isak showed the rewards for patience especially when underlying numbers are good. Eze now has Leicester next and sellers will be feeling regret unless they went Mbeumo. I was also helped by Saka/Palmer only getting assists and the Arsenal clean sheet getting busted.

Gameweek 3 review:
A very eventful weekend with Haaland and Salah both on fire, a controversial red card, an extraordinary comeback and only one clean sheet !!
Man City are 3/3 after another hat trick from the Norwegian robot in a 3-1 win at West Ham. Liverpool are the only other team with a 3/3 record after a comfortable 3-0 win at Old Trafford with Diaz and Salah doing the damage. Arsenal and Brighton both lost their 100% records after sharing a 1-1 draw, with a Rice red card proving pivotal as Joao Pedro wiped out a Havertz goal.
An Isak winner saw Newcastle beat Spurs 2-1. A Mbeumo double helped Brentford beat Southampton 3-1. Everton self destructed at Goodison as Bournemouth completed an incredible 3-2 win from being 0-2 down after 87 mins. And an Eze equaliser gave Palace a 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Villa won 2-1 at Leicester, Forest remain unbeaten after a 1-1 draw with Wolves. And new boys Ipswich got their first point of the season in a 1-1 with Fulham.
My GW3 score and rank:
A score of 79 points was one point above the elite manager average from Live FPL which is always a good benchmark for me and 17 points above the overall average. Only 5/11 returners but a captain hat trick when Haaland’s points are making more of a difference with his lower ownership, and patience being rewarded by keeping hold of Eze and Isak.
After a heavy red arrow last week when fixtures looked fantastic, we had the reverse this week. 8/11 away fixtures looked tricky but delivered a welcome rank boost. It would have been an extremely good week had Mo Salah not been a party pooper in the final game.
My first “green arrow” of the season with a 32% rank uplift, up from 2.8M to 1.9M. So a near 1M rank gain is certainly a decent week and not to be sniffed at.
