FPL GW37 review – a Statistical look back at gameweek 37 and cumulative stats to date
Introduction
Here we look at the underlying stats performance of a number of attacking players and defensive teams focusing on xG and xA plus xG conceded for teams. It includes pens which can distort things if not evenly spread but are part of their returns.
It is done for the gameweek just gone and the last 10 gameweeks. I feel this better represents current form
Players are scored on their xG and xA output for the game and then it is turned into a value for money number of which the desired level is 10. All those 10 plus are shown in green the rest lower in red. Players are only rated if they start.
I haven’t done anything like every player. Just those represented significantly in the 20 top FPL managers teams article plus a few others
For defensive teams the idea is to get an xGA of less than 1.0. That is shown in green the rest red.
My intention is then to update it for each gameweek so you can see a traffic light trend as it were. It is a pure number and not adjusted for the opponent. That was just getting too ridiculous.
Team defence stats are only in the last 10 as the presentation is easier

It excludes the Wolves v Arsenal game. There are exclusions regarding GW36 but nothing significant
