Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.

However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Kris, Kev and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

The reference to 19 top managers is from the article where I follow 19 top FPL managers who have finished in the top 10k overall rank the last 3 seasons.

This season has been the most challenging of the 13 seasons I have played FPL.

It is not just because there are 11 million managers playing the game or the amount of information coming from content creators or levels of competition.

In GW12, my team was quite happily sitting around 250k, when a storm hit my home. I was evacuated at 5 in the morning and I have not been able to move home since.

I have lived in 4 homes this season. Sometimes, I have had access to watch Premier League football, others not.

Currently, I do not have WiFi at home so I am sitting in my local library typing this, with my team somehow in the top 600 in the world.

GW 37 Review

I went into GW37, just outside the top 1K, hoping to stay there or thereabouts. I had taken a hit to cover my rank buying popular players Jackson and Foden.

My front 8 was very template and had the likes of Gabriel and Porro at the back. Like 80% of team around me I had my bench boost activated. I was looking forward to nice calm greyish arrow.

What happened was quite extraordinary. Gvardiol and my uber differential Van de Ven, combined to return 41 points, with 3 goals, 2 clean sheets and 6 bonus points.

This halved my overall rank and propelled me to 537 in the world.

So what now?

Really anything can happen in GW38 and often does. Man City and Arsenal are still contesting the title. Relegation is all but confirmed.

I own triple Man City but only one Arsenal player.  I can see the Gunners score a hatful in front of their own fans, so I expect to get Saka or Havertz back into my team

It will depend on injury news but I will sell either Gordon or Bruno.

Captaincy

It has to be Haaland, after his 6 goals in the last 3 matches. Son will be vice if needed.

I would like to finish off with a big thank you to Geek and all the other Geek contributors for making this season so enjoyable and successful.

All the best

Harry

Rick has his used all his Chips

So a huge bench boost week with a fair bit of excitement and disappointment to share around. Overall I’m pretty happy with the results and I certainly consider this Bench Boost a success — at least, more so than my other chips this season. I can’t say for sure exactly who I’d have benched were I not using the chip, but then I’m not overly fussed about what the ‘true’ bench boost points are. Ultimately, 134 isn’t to be sniffed at, but it didn’t improve my rank as much as I’d hoped. I’m now sat at 112k – still 7 points off a top 100k finish.

GW38

So here we are. The last gameweek of the season and I’m still a little outside of my target rank. I think it’s fair to say this won’t be my best season ever, but it at least feels respectable. It seems the biggest difference maker was when the FH was used, and I fell on the wrong side of the decision. That combined with a ropey start (the Gabriel benching controversy seems a long time ago now), means I’m happy to even be close to the top 100k.
