FPL team tips DGW24 – FFGeek contributor’s teams part 3

Introduction

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

See the part 1 contributors and part 2 contributors article.

Sergio Torija

Sergio’s last 3 seasons were 596k, 17k and 21k

A good gameweek with 64 points and a green arrow to 14k overall rank.

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 2 seasons overall rank were 17k and 1k

GW23 points: 48 (FPL average 44) Total points 1,326 Gameweek rank 2,873k, Overall Rank: 106k, green arrow 7k, Team Value: £105.0m

With only three returners and a captain blank, I was amazed, and relieved, to get a small green arrow last gameweek after a diabolical GW22 that saw my rank plummet.

There is no doubt that I was saved by Raul Jimenez’s double and his reward is to be downgraded in order to release funds to change Maddison to Salah. I’m currently deciding which cheap forward to bring in but I suspect it will be Calvert-Lewin.

In truth I don’t want to lose Maddison or Jimenez, especially as I would have to incur a -4. However, the temptation to get Salah is just too much. Positioned at 106k, I have given up on achieving a top, top overall rank. As a result, I am looking to have a bit more fun and having Alexander Arnold / Salah and Mane over the next month should certainly help.

To justify the hit, and in light of the polls, I have put the armband on Salah. I may activate the TC chip last-minute.

Here is the squad with the intended transfers. Subs would be Lundstrum, Dendocker and Tomori.

Transfer summary:  Likely to be Jimenez out  Calvert Lewin in and Maddison out and Salah in

Costas Chari

Costas’s last 3 seasons overall ranks were 84k, 29k and 27k

GW23 points: 47 (FPL average 44) Total points 1,292 Gameweek rank 3,041k, Overall Rank: 298k, green arrow 9k, Team Value: £102.3m

Gw23 review.

Only 3 players returned but luckily Gazzaniga and Grealish got double digits and Salah got the last minute goal. 9k green arrow us very welcomed. I was unlucky to have Rashford injured and Sidibe benched, hopefully he starts at home against Newcastle.

Gw24…

Is here!! Finally.. I am certain this will be a season defining gameweek for everyone. Everyone is tripled on Liverpool and there are so many combinations as Liverpool have shown that anyone can score big on any given day!

I was always going to own both Salah and Mane as they will be heavily captained and even triple captained. Not owning one of the pair and him getting a huge point haul then you are in deep sh*t (excuse the language). Team value is low so I had to part ways with De Bruyne to get Mane.

The third choice is a fun one for me. I went for Firmino as it was the easiest to get to from Rashford and I like the differential value for a player who has been in good form, has great stats and tends to score away from home (GW24 is 2 away games). I also believe that both West ham and Wolves can score against Liverpool so it put me off from a defender although Alexander Arnold has been a nightmare not owning. I originally planned in getting Tammy Abraham out but the Rashford injury made me keep him.

Team is set up. Perfectly for GW24.

Gazzaniga has Norwich home
Sidibe has Newcastle home
Targett and Grealish have Watford home
Tomkins has Southampton home
Vardy has West Ham home
Abraham has Arsenal at home

And I have the 3 Liverpool attacking players and Noble (hoping for a penalty).

Captain.

Well I am triple captaining for the plethora (had to use a greek word) of reasons we outlined in the FFGeek podcast last night. The safe choice would have been to go with Mane as he is the most heavily owned but the has back to back blanks. If Liverpool had at least one home game I would have gone Salah but with 2 away games and his away record being bad I cant go there. So I am going with the fun, bold, differential, gut-feeling choice and Firmino. I really want to also enjoy the game and not only play based on stats and ownership etc

One thing is for sure from 298k I will either be looking at 1mil OR or top 100k OR by the end of the week. Hopefully luck will smile at me.

Good luck people 🙏

transfer summary:  De Bruyne and Rashford out.  Mane and Firmino in

Mikael Danielsen

Mikael’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 12k, 100k and 5k

GW23 points: 46 (FPL average 44) Total points 1,249 Gameweek rank 3,283k, Overall Rank: 771k, green arrow 8k, Team Value: £104.7m

I’m carrying over a free transfer

Salah (TC)

Alex Skinner

Alex’s last 3 seasons were 1k, 302k and an incredible 824th overall

GW23 points: 41 -8 (FPL average 44) Total points 1,177 Gameweek rank 4,429k, Overall Rank: 2,115k, red arrow 257k, Team Value: £104.5m

No changes, rolling over free transfer.
Salah captain, not triple captaining though! Hoping that a better double game week presents itself.
Good luck
