FPL team tips gameweek 18 – FFGeek contributors show their GW18 teams part 3

Here’s part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Joseph Crilley

Joseph finished with an overall rank of 7k last season and 13k in 16/17

GW17 points: 50 -4 (average 43) Total points 1,050, Gameweek rank 1,730k, Overall Rank: 30k, red arrow 6k, Team Value: £102.9m

Tough decisions for me this time around following a below average performance last week where I need to decide how much faith I have in my team Spurs. I currently hold Son and Kane but the temptation is there to sell the latter in order to bring in Hazard/Sterling. The main benefit to holding is it will give me two free transfers and I will then have two Spurs assets for our promising home fixture against Bournemouth!

In summary, I either do Kane and Camarasa to Kamara and Hazard/Sterling where I would captain whoever I brought in or I hold fire and captain Sane. I prefer the City man over Aubameyang for the armband due to his midweek rest and Burnley’s improved defensive performance at Wembley last weekend. Right now, I’m leaning toward holding but my mind may have changed by 7pm!

Good luck all and may your arrows be green!

Gameweek 17 review

Well, like in Gameweek 10, from the worst week of my season to the best week of my season, just this time it was even more extreme. A Gameweek rank of 17k is phenomenal, though that doesn’t take into account my -4. Early on Sunday I genuinely looked on for 11 out of 11 returns as my main concern for the day was Danny Ings who managed to put 2 past Arsenal in the first half. Unfortunately Brighton ended up scoring meaning Luiz didn’t return and then neither of Salah nor Aubameyang returned either, but that didn’t really matter as it was still a great week. As I’m sure you’ve worked out, 8 returners this week including my captain Kane, though his return was a little disappointing as I was hoping for more against a poor Burnley side at home. My returners were: Ings 13, Snodgrass 11, Sane 10, Kane 10, Fabianski 9, Wan-Bissaka 6, Balbuena 6 and Doherty 6.

My hit worked out a treat with Snodgrass returning as I ended up with 15 points from him and Luiz whereas I would have ended up with only 5 points if I hadn’t done it. The hit has also made me feel far happier with the look of my side as now it doesn’t feel so top heavy, though that’s probably more to do with the fact that all my cheap defenders returned this week unlike last week.

Transfers:

I’ve decided to transfer out Alexander-Arnold for Targett. I could have done the sideways move to Lovren but thought I’d go Targett as a bit of a differential as his fixture this week is decent and his attacking numbers for a defender are excellent. I’ll likely bring Trent back in for one of my defenders after GW21 has passed and he’s fully fit again.

Bench Decisions:

The keeper decision this week was easy as I’m always going to play Fabianski versus Watford over Patricio against Liverpool. Choosing my bench was pretty easy this week as Wan-Bissaka is playing Man City away so he’s obviously third sub. Doherty is also playing Liverpool and so I can’t see him getting a clean sheet and an attacking return is unlikely in my opinion so he’s second sub. First sub is Kenedy as he’s got a decent fixture but so does everyone else in my team and he’s my poorest returning player so an easy bench decision again.

Captain:

Aubameyang may have only returned 1 assist over the last two fixtures but he’s still getting great chances so it’s only a matter of time now until he scores again in my opinion. For that reason I’m going to captain him this week though I do feel a City asset is a good option if you have one, just got to be careful of the rotation.
