Introduction

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

My team is set for GW10, brought last night Jota for James Rodriguez before his price rise.  £2.4m in the bank, Vardy captain, I am hoping for a green arrow, good luck to everyone!

Costas Chari

Another week another 8 point hit. This time it did not go well, but just a 2k red arrow is not that bad. As I said I am setting the team for the long term.

Consolation is that Bruno Fernandes C with De Bruyne and Richarlison scored 8 more points than Son Kane and Walker Peters (I would have had Werner captain) so its a break even.

It could have been much better if Werner was more clinical but it is what it is.

Gw10… Wait for it…. Yeap another 8 point hit. Plan was always to double on man City so its Robertson to Neco Williams, Maupay to Brewster and Bissouma to Sterling. Hopefully City will come firing

Captain will be De Bruyne

Transfer Summary:  Robertson to Neco Williams, Maupay to Brewster and Bissouma to Sterling

GW 9 Review

Last GW I was deliberating a move for Bruno Fernandes to replace Mo Salah, right until Friday and decided to go for it. I am delighted that I did, as he got a double-digit haul as my captain.

Another decent but lucky GW for me, with 76 (-4) points and another green arrow.

In a roller coaster couple of minutes, I felt excitement at Man United winning a penalty, then disappointment when Bruno had his penalty saved then finally relief when scored. The referee’s decision to allow a retake gained me 20 points!! Likewise, I felt joy that Dier got a clean sheet followed by annoyance that I had benched him followed by relief that Coady and Saiss did not play and Dier got into my FPL team.

Calvert Lewin (13) scored a brace

Captain Bruno Fernandes (22) and Son (10) scored a goal apiece, Kane (4) claimed an assist with Chilwell (7), Dier (7) and Taylor (7) picking up clean sheets.

I got a total of 14 bonus points!

Especially pleasing was Bruno and Chilwell returning a goal and a clean sheet respectively on their debuts in my FPL team.

I mentioned last GW that I was waiting to hear when the DGWs were. The TV fixtures have been announced for December but not yet for December, meaning I will have to wait for January’s schedule. I am now planning to WC in GW16.

Up until the WC deadline, City fixtures are enticing, even though they are not firing on all cylinders.

Predicted Transfers

As I write this, these are my predicted transfers but I will wait to see what new emerges before I confirm. As always, I will confirm in a tweet on Friday.

Saiss -> Dias

Son -> De Bruyne

Saiss has barely played and Rubin Dias looked the most nailed on City defender. Getting rid of Son is a big call. His ownership if around 58%, so a big haul and my rank will suffer. Conversely, if De Bruyne outscores him the next 6 GWs I will climb up the rankings. I have just heard that Pope will be out for GW10.

Captain

I am fortunate to have many options for the armband.

Bruno Fernandes away to Southampton

Calvert Lewin home to Leeds

Or De Bruyne home to Burnley, assuming I get him in.

I will tweet who I captain but at present I favour De Bruyne

Transfer summary:  Saiss to Dias and Son to De Bruyne

Avishek Majumdar

Avishek’s last 3 seasons are 13k, 45k and 64k

GW9 points: 78  (FPL average 55) Total points: 530, Overall Rank: 806k, green arrow: 546k Team Value: £102.1m

GW9 review

So I am finally back inside 1m, 1st time since GW 1 and I am really hoping I don’t lose this momentum. The Salah to Bruno Fernandes transfer and captaincy instantly paid off like most others, along with returns from Chilwell, Coufal, Robertson, Son, Calvert Lewin and Kane. So while I had 7 out of 11 players returning, the other 4 all contributed with a solitary point. I was okay with 1 pointers from Grealish, Martinez and Foden but the Zaha Covid news on Monday night was a real kick in the teeth. He had the form and the fixtures and to lose him before New(H), WBA(A) where he could have also been on penalties hurts. But such are the times we are living in and I wish he recovers soon and comes back stronger.

GW 10

Moving on to my team for GW 10, one obvious move that I will be making is Zaha to Jota. Jota was rested midweek in UCL so I expect him to start again this weekend. This will also ensure a Liverpool cover till I eventually get Salah in for Ful(H) in GW 12.

But what I am not sure at this point is who would be a better captain pick for this GW between De Bruyne and Vardy, and depending on who I think it will be I will take a -4 for either Son or Kane.
I will be keeping an eye on the Geek polls but as of now I am leaning towards De Bruyne. I will take a final decision after Leicester and Spurs’ midweek Europa games are played.

Good luck and cheers everyone!

Transfer summary:  Zaha to Jota.

Kane to Vardy or Son to KDB (-4) to be confirmed
