Introduction
This is part 1 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change. Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

There is no hiding, my start to the season was truly terrible, 39 points, GW rank of 4m, and almost bottom of the contributors league… what a disaster. But that was the risk of going without Salah. Also having excluded from the team in the last minute Vardy and Justin wasn’t great either. It is just one week though, and I now have to keep the calm and trust in the picks I did just one week ago. Spurs were bad and clearly Kane won’t remain in my team if this continues, but again it was just one game. Probably the player I am more worried about is Havertz, he played so wide and not very involved in the attacking play. Again, will give him one or two more games to see how things develop.
To takeaway some positives, all my players started in GW1 and none of them got injured or suspended. Mitchell at 4.0 seems a great pick for as long as he keeps starting and Newcastle looked pretty good on the opening day. That was the best last minute swap I did, Wilson instead of Mitrovic.
This week the two United players join in, so I have a full healthy squad to pick from. Therefore I won’t be doing any transfers and will go into GW3 with 2 frees and more flexibility.
Captain will be Aubameyang with Martial as vice.

It was a disappointing week for me with just 53 points. I was ok with making the wrong captaincy call, but at least I had Salah who has a surprisingly low ownership. The rest was a disaster as everyone else seemed to be getting clean sheets and attacking returns from defence and I got nothing. Walker Peters did get into good areas, as did Doherty, the latter getting into the box similar to what he did for Wolves. Mitrovic didn’t play but most of the cheaper options didn’t perform either, so I’m happy to keep a couple of weeks at least. Same with Adams.
Son was a disappointment. He did ok in the first half, getting some good crosses in, but Everton were very good, and in the second half Spurs had nothing to offer. I have considered moving to Rashford, but I want to see United play first. Having 2 free transfers next week will allow me with a -4 to do some surgery, with more data at my disposal. If Lampard comes out and says Werner is out, then it’s an easy switch to Martial.
I am, however bracing myself for another bad week. Southampton vs Spurs where I have defensive and attacking coverage from both teams certainly lowers potential output. In addition people are getting on board the United assets who have an excellent fixture run. It is what it is though, hopefully I can survive and make some good transfers next week, and who knows, the week may turn out better than expected.
Captain will be Aubameyang. I can see goals against West Ham and can see them being popular to have a captain against this season along with Fulham.
Good luck all
