This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Prakhar Patel

Prakhar finished with a rank of 17k last season and an incredible 17th overall in 17/18

What an amazing start it was for me to this new season. Sterling, Salah and Kane delivered big and my 3 premium strategy looks a good decision at least for right now.

For this week, I am going to bank my transfer as the team doesn’t require any immediate changes and the starting 11 picks itself except for one decision which is Rico vs Norwood.Bournemouth are away to Aston Villa and although they look favourites to win the game, I don’t have a lot of confidence in their defence so I am gonna stick with Norwood at home to Crystal Palace for now.

The Captaincy decision is a tricky one as Salah looks like the straightforward pick but having played 120mins midweek might have his game time reduced if Liverpool wrap up the game early.Sterling is the only other choice if you’re not going for Salah but I think Salah will deliver even if he gets 55-60 mins so it is definitely Salah and I’ll update the changes on Twitter before the deadline if any.

Good luck everyone and don’t get carried away or disheartened by an amazing or an average start to the new season because this game is an unpredictable one and things can change very quickly.

May your arrows be green!

It was a solid enough start for my team in GW1 as my team picked up 84 points which was enough to place me at 670k for now. This is comfortably inside FFG’s 1mil gameweek rank target so I’m feeling reasonably satisfied with how things have begun. The only slight regret that I have is taking the chance on Walker-Peters over a City defender, though is purely based on the immediate results.

Asides from that, there are little regrets currently and I’m still happy rolling with my unconventional 4-5-1. I’ve seen some worry around about Bournemouth attackers but my plan was to always give Wilson and Fraser the first two weeks against promoted sides before reassessing in GW3. On a similar note, Perez and Lanzini may have both blanked but their best fixtures are yet to come so I’m not panicking on them just yet though they will be monitored closely.

All of the above and a lack of fires in my team means that I will be rolling the transfer this week and will then look to make some moves in GW3. I will be keeping a close eye on Chelsea, United and Villa attackers this weekend as they are looking likely transfer targets. With the captaincy staying on Salah (not looking to go against the polls at this early stage despite his midweek excursions), the only change to my team is Montoya will be starting in place of KWP due to their fixtures this week.

All a bit boring I know, but if there was ever a week for that then it’s probably GW2! All the best to everyone this weekend and may your arrows be green!
