Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends. However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor tracker team Plus the Contributor teams of Rob, Rick, Andrew, Kris, Kev and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £3 PCM.

Note I am changing from FPL average to the post hits 15 top Managers average  who have finished in the top 10K the last 3 seasons that I follow

Ori Gal

Ori’s last 3 seasons have seen him finish an incredible 243rd, 6k and 4k

GW1 points: 70 (15 Top managers average 70) Total points: 70, Overall Rank: 1,371k, arrow: n/a   Team Value: £100.0m

Ori is one of the 15 top FPL managers I follow every week

So GW1 is behind us and the team I support Bournemouth are second in the league, beating Villa 2-0!!!

Back to fantasy football, while I had an ok score of 70, I was disappointed with the outcome.

The reality is that I got most of my points (like most people) from Salah (captain), Haalandand and Martinelli.

I got most of my 50/50 decisions wrong for this week. Not having Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea defence hurt me. I knew the risks of waiting to get some of their players once there is more clarity of formation, etc, but it still hurt my weekly performance.

I chose Digne over Gabriel/Dier. This didn’t work out.

I wanted a Newcastle and Leicester player and it was between Trippier and Dewsbury Hall or Castagne and Almiron (+0.5 in the bank). I went for the later, mainly as I wanted some money in the bank for flexibility, and while Castagne did deliver 8 points, the net loss is 6 points.

In my family league, my son and my eldest daughter are ahead of me, with scores and 75 and 74. At least I am ahead of my other daughter (the Chelsea supporter from my last review. The other 2 are Bournemouth supporters), but this is purely because she picked Kane over Haaland (and already changed to Haaland before the price rise for Haaland and price fall for Kane).

So really not good enough for me :).

On a positive note, I feel that I am well set up for GW2 and GW3 (baring injuries). I picked the team for the start of the season with GW1-6 in mind and the original plan stays the same:

GW2 – roll a transfer, captain Haaland Vs Bournemouth.
GW3-5 – get Arsenal (GW3) and Spurs/Chelsea defender, based on the first few games.

So no transfers this week, captain is Haaland, vice is Salah. Still debating whether to start Almiron (bha) or Pereira (wol).

FPL Team Tips GW2

David N

David has 3 top 1k overall ranks in the last 6 seasons and 17k and 10k last 2 seasons

GW1 points: 73 (15 Top managers average 70) Total points: 73, Overall Rank: 897k, arrow: n/a   Team Value: £100.0m

A good first week with a relatively template team, at least in terms of players.

With hindsight, I would have stuck to the team I had three minutes before the deadline, with Perisic out for Dias and Bailey out for another 4.5M midfielder.

I still think that I will want Perisic GW3 onwards, and kept him on the bench to save a transfer, but that decision may well cost me more than four points. Bailey will also require a transfer at some point, and if I keep him until I WC both Perisic and him may well drop in the next week or two as too many managers have teams set up for different purposes or chase last week’s points! So I hope that Neto and/or Bailey return this weekend as two weeks without a return will not help on that front. Both still have good fixtures so playing them again ahead of Perisic, who stays on my bench.

Zinchenko is not someone I am watching. I still think he is a trap relative to Gabriel or Ramsdale at the same price point. Mitrovic however is someone I am now following. I was never going to have him in my initial team given his fixtures, and feel no rush to get him in, but anyone would be foolish not to keep an eye on him.

Haaland C, Salah VC.

Transfer summary: Rolling the transfer, which was always the plan unless something comes up before the deadline.

Good luck all!

Scott Taylor

Scott’s last 5 seasons ORs were 55k, 12k, 15k, 1k and 12k

GW1 points: 73 (15 Top managers average 70) Total points: 73, Overall Rank: 897k, arrow: n/a   Team Value: £100.0m

A decent first game week with 6 returning players, 2 of which were double figures (including my captain). My blanks were Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Bailey, Rashford and Jesus. The only 2 out of those I’m worried about are Bailey and Rashford. However, I’m not going to transfer either out after only 1 game week. Plus I certainly want to roll the transfer to have the ability to make a more meaningful change in GW3 with more information on which to base that change.

So it’s no transfer this week. Captain will be Haaland and vice Salah.

Avishek Majumdar

Avishek’s last 5 seasons ORs were 62k, 32k, 13k, 45k and 64k

GW1 points: 78 (15 Top managers average 70) Total points: 78, Overall Rank: 386k, arrow: n/a   Team Value: £100.0m

I’m 99% sure carrying over the free

Only decisions currently debating are:

  1. Salah or Haaland for the armband.
  2. Which two to play and bench from Bailey Neto Andreas and Trippier.
