Introduction

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Yaniv Salomon

Yaniv finished with an overall rank of 4k last season and 8k in 17/18

GW32+ points: 63  (FPL average 50) Total points 2,033 Gameweek rank 1,793k, Overall Rank: 851th, red arrow 241, Team Value: £106.7m

Hi all.
So an average Gameweek for me, dropped 200 places, mainly due to captaining Jimenez (I will never captain again in the early kick off match 😉). I have 2 free transfers , and I planned not using even one of them, but after watching Spurs last night , I don’t want to keep any of their assets… Mahrez will start vs Southampton in Sunday, after coming yesterday from the bench (almost had a brace in few minutes), so Mahrez for Son, I will keep the 2 FT again for next week.

Wolves defense looks fantastic, so I am going again with their double up in defense and Lascelles will be the first sub.

There is still an uncertainty about Liverpool assets, but Klopp mentioned today that he will keep his strong lineup, so vs the worse defense in the league, and after they need to return their dignity back, Mane will get the armband (Klopp please don’t do the Pep thing)

Good luck all!

Yaniv

Transfer summary:  Son OUT Mahrez IN

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 2 seasons overall rank were 17k and 1k

GW32+ points: 61  (FPL average 50) Total points 1,953 Gameweek rank 2,048k, Overall Rank: 18k, red arrow 3k, Team Value: £103.6m

Chris has used all his chips apart from his Free Hit

Delighted to have escaped a disappointing gameweek with only a minor drop in overall rank and no real damage in my cash mini leagues.

This week, the team looks strong enough to avoid using my free hit: I’ll save that chip until GW34+ or GW35+.

With 2 free transfers, my priority is to bring in Salah. I’m not convinced that he won’t be rotated, nor am I certain that he won’t be outscored by the person making way for him: Mane. However, Salah going for the golden boot makes him a must-have for the remainder of the season in my eyes. The captain polls for this week just go to show that.

To fund this, I’m removing Kabasele for the more game time secure Kiko Femenia.

I’ll likely make these changes last minute in case there’s any further news.

Captain will be Salah.

Best of luck to you all

Transfer summary:  Kabasele OUT Femenia IN

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 3 seasons overall ranks were 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW32+ points: 65  (FPL average 50) Total points 1,922 Gameweek rank 1,556k, Overall Rank: 45k, red arrow 2k, Team Value: £104.6m

Rick has used all his chips

There’s a reason many are hesitant to captain someone that plays in the first game of the week. A poor performance leads to many matches being watched through the fingers as the other popular options threaten a heavy rank hit with every touch of the ball. This was the position I found myself in this week when Jimenez failed to deliver.

It looked like I’d got away with it, too… With Rashford and Martial both blanking, Jimenez’s lacklustre performance didn’t seem to have mattered all that much. It was only when Aubameyang delivered his haul that I received the gut punch. In the end I was fortunate to get away with a such a small red arrow.

Transfer

Although I have two transfers to use, I think I’ll only be using one this week. At some point the shiny ‘must-have’ assets like De Bruyne, Alexander-Arnold and Salah may start to lose their sheen, and when they do I’ll want two transfers available so I can redistribute the funds. I’m in no hurry though, they are all very highly owned with good fixtures so keeping hold of them not only protects me from huge rank drops but it also forces those trying to catch me in my main cash mini league to think outside the box.

I like having Son in the team and an assist in each of the last two matches is okay, but at 9.8m I’d expect a bit more. The threat of Martial against a struggling Bournemouth is potentially far more damaging, so I’ll be swapping him in for Son.

Bench

Calvert-Lewin has been quiet since the restart which means his time is nearly up. He’ll be benched to make way for Saint-Maximin who I foolishly left off the pitch this week along with his 15 points.

Captain

Captain is currently Salah. Vice Bruno.

Transfer summary:  Son OUT Martial IN

Rob Cosgrove

Rob’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 45k, 40k and 23k

GW32+ points: 75 on Free Hit  (FPL average 50) Total points 1,912 Gameweek rank 655k, Overall Rank: 59k, green arrow 14k, Team Value: £102.8m

Rob has used all his Chips apart from the Triple Captain Chip

A successful free hit result in the end with 75 points largely down to Aubameyang and De Bruyne! Usually a free hit squad where only 1 player returned that I put in would have been a disaster and I could have easily done 2 transfers to get Aubameyang in but I only really wanted him for the Norwich game and wanted to keep Salah for the Villa game, so I feel the free hit was worth it.

This week, I will be making 2 transfers for a points hit. My first transfer will be Barnes to Martial. To fund this I will probably remove Son and swap him to Pulisic, all depending on the press conferences because if Klopp hints that Salah might be rested then I will remove him.

I would love to have Wan Bissaka this week but feel an 8 point hit is just throwing points away at this stage.

Captain will be on Martial as I feel Salah might be rotated.

Transfer summary: Harvey Barnes OUT Martial IN.   Second transfer TBC but likely Son OUT Pulisic IN.

Here’s the team pre any transfers with an assumption of Martial as captain:
