This is part 1 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change. Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed
Harry Vernon’s last 4 seasons are 22k, 6k an incredible 224th and 6k

GW3 was a bit of a bizarre and difficult one.
My transfer Vardy to Jimenez was a disaster. Vardy netted a hattrick whilst Jimenez scored in his own goal.
To rub salt into my wounds a had taken a four point to make it happen and so lost a total of 21 points.
His Wolves team mates (Saiss and Coady) combined to get a minus one in a freak 4-0 defeat to West Ham.
On the bright side Calvert Lewin scored again! Havertz and Trent Alexander Arnold got assists and McCarthy got a clean sheet.
The rest all blanked including Captain Timo. If only he had just hit the ball slightly below the bar. FPL is all about fine margins.
Chris’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 41k, 17k and 1k
GW3 points: 56 (FPL average 43) Total points: 163, Overall Rank: 1,828k, green arrow: 1,093k Team Value: £100.0m

A good week for my team with a decent green arrow, despite a captain blank. I consider myself somewhat fortunate given the decisions that led to penalties for Fernandes and Wilson. As a Spurs fan, however, I was left raging. Just ludicrous! Back to my team, and there wasn’t much else to get excited about with the exception of Soucek, who looks threatening and deservedly contributed an assist to the cause. Again though, a puzzling decision to not award him the goal.
There are still a number of issues with my team and I’m really looking for an excuse to wildcard soon. But I know that a few more weeks of information gathering would be prudent.
This week, I’m inclined to remove Werner for Jiménez. It’s a big call because there is absolutely no doubt that the Chelsea player will soon go on a run and score plenty of goals. But his potential for damage is limited given he won’t be a captain favourite for some time. And the fixtures for Wolves are just too appealing to not have their main source of attacking output. For this reason, I think it’s quite likely I will make this transfer.
It is possible that I may be a bit reckless and take a hit to (temporarily) resolve another issue in my team. I have two choices on this front. Option one is that Davies can be turned into Justin. Both are likely to lose their place soon, but I am happy to take the risk that Justin should, over the next few weeks, outscore Davies by more than the price of a hit. Leicester’s fixtures are good and he is the more attacking-minded player. Option two is bringing in Calvert-Lewin for Wilson. Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures are atrocious and they haven’t looked very good offensively, so it’s a logical move. However, on balance, I prefer option one for this week, as Wilson has a chance of points with Burnley at home, whilst Calvert-Lewin’s short-term fixtures aren’t the best. The switch can probably wait.
I just can’t decide between Salah and De Bruyne at the moment for the captaincy. I’ll make a late call, but it’s currently on Mo.
Best of luck to you all!

Well what a shambles of a GW. Both in general and specifically for my team. I had no goals and just 2 assists and a clean sheet (a second rooted to my bench). Given the fixtures my team had it can only be described as a freak week. I dropped back in the rankings to 2.9m wiping out the gains I made in GW2. A long way off the pace, but hopefully this can change.
So I have a number of issues. Werner just isn’t doing the business yet and is falling in value. He is doing a lot of tracking back and playing quite wide. Lampard doesn’t seem to know his best formation/tactics yet and is missing the creativity that Pulisic or Ziyech could provide. Son is injured and I’m sceptical of a close return despite Mourinho’s comments saying he could be back after the international break. Adams despite having much better underlying stats than Ings has yet to score in the first 3 weeks. Ings is of course a better finisher, and has penalties but I can’t help thinking Adams must be due. Doherty and having WBA’s keepers are my other issues as well as missing out on Calvert Lewin’s points so far.
Normally I like to keep 2FT for the international break but I am going to remove Son. It will be between Barnes and Trossard. In the value below Son’s price point these are the clear best according to the stats. Barnes slightly edges it in the stats but has had easier fixtures. Trossard hitting the woodwork 3 times means he must be due. Trossard’s fixtures are better over 6 weeks or so, but Barnes has the better short term ones so I’m definitely torn.
My current thinking is a -4 to go Son>Trossard and Mitrovic>Jimenez. I hate hits but Jimenez on paper should outscore Mitrovic in that game. I’d take breaking even on the hit too as it means I can then focus transfers elsewhere. I want to get Robertson for Doherty soon as well. I cannot go Barnes with this route however so it’ll be tomorrow before I decide what I do.
My team looks good on paper (but it did last week too!). Captain will be De Bruyne again. I see lots of goals in the Leeds City game. Vice will be Jimenez (if I get him), otherwise Salah.
Good luck all
Transfer summary: likely Son out Trossard in and Mitrovic out Jimenez in
