FPL team tips GW6 – FFGeek contributor’s teams part 3

This is part 3 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. In the future it also wont cover early transfers. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.

Rick Porter

Rick last 3 seasons overall rank were 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW5 points: 62 (average 52) Total points 283 Gameweek rank 1,471k, Overall Rank: 1,131k, green arrow 523k, Team Value: £101.8m

An odd week for me. Obviously I’m happy with the result – being 10 points above average has helped my rank hugely – but the points really didn’t come from where I thought they would.

Going into GW5 my main concerns were having Mane over Salah, Wan Bissaka potentially missing the match, Rashford in general, and Pukki being up against one of the best defences around. However, all these players returned while the likes of De Bruyne, Sterling, Digne and TAA failed to fire despite having the more favourable fixtures.

If I’d been more adventurous with my captain choice this could have been a great week rather than just a good one. Annoyingly, aside from De Bruyne, I’d have been better off captaining any other attacking player (including benched Cantwell) – but that was never going to happen considering the Norwich injuries.

Sterling can deliver at any time and a couple of blanks won’t deter me. He’ll be wearing the captain armband once again for me this weekend.

Transfers

Overall, my team is looking pretty solid. Aside from Wickham swallowing a spot on my bench, I have very little I need to move on urgently. All my players have shown their worth in one week or another.

For obvious reasons, Aubameyang and Abraham are on my wish list. I’ve found a reason to not bring in the latter for three weeks now and he keeps showing me how stupid I am for not doing so.

As it stands, I’ll be not bringing him in again this week. Rashford has the better fixture and Abraham is up against TAA.

I’ll probably sit on the Mount injury especially as it seems there’s some prospect of him playing. There’s no player of a similar price that I’d want to spend a transfer on and if I roll it I’ll have more options next week to bring in someone from the aforementioned wish list.

Yaniv Salomon

Yaniv finished with an overall rank of 4k last season and 8k in 17/18

GW5 points: 69 (average 52) Total points 287 Gameweek rank 649k, Overall Rank: 945k, green arrow 969k, Team Value: £100.8m

Hi all, so finally a good week for me with a 1 million boost that could have been better after I changed in the last minute the armband from Mane to Raheem, but can’t complain.

Regarding this GWk, tough one ahead as my 3 Liverpool players (2 at the back) face Chelsea in good form with injured? Mount.. Good thing for now is Rico starting, so I will put him in and will save a FT as I don’t have enough money to make a decent FT without a hit.  I am still keeping my double Liverpool defense, hope Wilson can keep his amazing form, and hope Raheem will finally deliver, as he gets once again the armband (Pep be careful with rotation).

So good luck all!

Stephen Troop

Stephen’s last 3 seasons overall rank were 43k, 52k and 64k

GW5 points: 49  (average 52) Total points 282 Gameweek rank 4,028k, Overall Rank: 1,214k, red arrow 292k, Team Value: £100.6m

Well what a disaster. A sub 4m gameweek rank and down to 1.2m overall. Sterling captain fail was the main contributor as well as no clean sheets (except AWB on my bench). Mount, Salah and Pukki all did well for me. My transfer was Trossard (injured) to Lanzini which didn’t work out immediately but none of the replacements I looked at is.

For GW6 I have almost wildcarded a few times. Ultimately I don’t want many changes at the moment but I did want Auba and Son which would require a number of moves. I did a few drafts and ultimately wasn’t happy enough with the team and didn’t feel trends have settled enough for me to really know who I want. Therefore no wildcard. I will actually hold my transfer this week as it doesn’t look like Mount is injured long term.

Captain will be Sterling which after playing 90 minutes midweek and blanking the last 2 feels more than a risk than it should but I still think he is the best option in my team. I’ll play AWB over Lundstram this week.

Good luck all.
