Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends. However the FFGeek team and the Contributor tracker team mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make transfers as articles are posted. So you’re always up to date and live

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 5 seasons ORs were 1k, 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW6 Points: 42  (FPL average 43) Total points: 444, Overall Rank: 26k, red arrow: 18k  Team Value: £101.8m

A drop of 18k isn’t ideal, but the decision to captain Ronaldo over Salah was responsible for a big chunk of that. At this early stage a handful of points means a whole lot rank-wise and a huge shift is only a good or bad week away. Even a simple yellow card can see you tumble thousands, so best not to dwell on it too much.

GW6

Having both Ronaldo and Lukaku blank when you’re heavily invested in premiums hurts, but it was a generally low scoring week anyway and most of the more balanced two-premium teams didn’t put up particularly great numbers either. The recent difference-making points have generally come from budget midfielders, who are far from out of reach to those with an extra premium. It’s just a case of which of them you own.

Still, after an average couple of weeks, I’m hoping the triple premium approach will now start paying off. Lukaku’s fixtures take a turn for the better, so he’ll gain plenty of owners and be a leading captain pick again. Some will shift to him from Ronaldo, but I can’t see Ronaldo’s ownership ever falling below a high-threat level, so having both alongside Salah is a decent advantage. Sure, I can only captain one each week, but if there’s a hat trick scored by a highly owned premium, I’d rather own them uncaptained then miss out completely.

Transfer

I have two FTs and want a Chelsea defender this week. Despite the injury to Alexander-Arnold, I think I’ll be sticking to my original plan to raise the needed cash by dropping Traore down to Smith-Rowe/Gallagher and upgrading Semedo to Rudiger. Trent Alexander-Arnold should only miss a week and I’d want him back for Watford so, as tempting as a quick swap to Alonso is, I think I’ll resist. I am still thinking about it though…

Captain

Lukaku this week. Ronaldo vice.

Transfer summary: Likely Traore out and Smith-Rowe/Gallagher in Plus Semedo out and Rudiger in

GW 6 Review

A disappointing GW with only 3 of my 11 returning. Liverpool could have scored (and conceded) more. Captain Mo (14) and Jota (7) scored a goal and could have had many more points. Antonio (8) scored a late winner for the Irons. The less said about the others the better.

Still, I am in the top 25K without having played any chips and am more than satisfied.

Injury Crisis

I have 2 Leeds players in my side and was eagerly anticipating their great fixture run. Unfortunately, both Ayling and Bamford are now injured. Ayling needs an operation and will be out for quite some time. I held Bamford for GW6 to find out more information. He will miss GW7 and ‘probably’ GW8 but may or may not be back for GW 9. If I had concrete information I would hold. He has a couple of weeks to recover over the international break.

Trent Alexander Arnold is also out but just for GW 7 so benching him is a good option. Shaw is my third defender who is likely to be out but somehow has been named in the England squad.

Rotation Risks

Gilmour, my fifth midfielder did not play a minute of GW4 and GW6. I like my bench players to be nailed which is frustrating. Now Firmino is back, Diogo Jota is now at risk of rotation. It is a similar situation for Mason Greenwood with Rashford joining the abundance of attacking options at Ole’s disposal.

GW 7 Plans

I have 2 FTs and 7 outfield players who are at risk. I am hopeful that one of Jota and Greenwood get to play so let’s call it 6. I can bench 3 so taking a 4-point hit for 3 transfers looks favourable. I would really like to avoid playing my WC this GW though. For me, it is often a case of ‘Out of the frying pan into the fire.’ With the International Break about to start.

I would like to get more Chelsea players in and hold off the WC until their great fixtures end in GW11. IF, Shaw plays, Rudiger in for Ayling sorts out the defence nicely. Both Livramento and White have strong upcoming fixtures, though Chelsea away is difficult this week for Soton. Trent should be back in

GW8. Out of my attacking players, Mo, Benrahma, Antonio and Lukaku all look great.

Jiminez and Raphinha have great fixtures. So, I could get them in to replace Bamford and one of Greenwood or Jota. At the moment I am learning towards Greenwood. This would leave 0.7m in the bank for Shaw to either Cancelo or Azpilicueta next GW.

Possible Transfers

Ayling, Greenwood/Jota and Bamford out for Rudiger Raphinha and Jiminez for a 4-point hit.

If Shaw is definitely out, I could take an 8-point hit to sell him for Azpilicueta.

Captaincy

It has to be Lukaku for me with Jimenez as the vice-captain.

This would be my team AFTER 3 transfers assuming they are made.

FPL Team Tips GW7

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 249k, 41k, 17k and 1k

GW6 Points: 49  (FPL average 43) Total points: 432, Overall Rank: 86k, red arrow: 5k  Team Value: £100.9m

Having been all set to wildcard this week, I’m now hesitant and can’t help but thinking the chip may best be played over the upcoming international break. My team, by no means perfect, isn’t in a terrible position. And one of the main purposes of a wildcard would be to bring in Chelsea players, but I am now wary about rotation for this particular gameweek.

That said, the press conferences may force my hand. If Coufal is, like Alexander-Arnold, ruled out, then I would have only two starting defenders – Rudiger and White. And I’m not entirely convinced that the former will start. Also, the captain polls may convince me that now is the right time to move from Ronaldo to Lukaku. Therefore, I am still playing around with a wildcard and have not ruled out using it. My current draft is below.

Shaw to Rudiger has already been done as I am keen to at least get some Chelsea cover in, regardless of whether I wildcard or not.

Captain will be Ronaldo if I don’t wildcard, and Lukaku if I do!

Best of luck to you all.

Transfer summary: So far Shaw to Rudiger. Potential Wildcard still could happen

Sergio Torija

Sergio’s last 5 seasons overall ranks were 262k 2k, 596k, 17k and 21k

GW6 Points: 42  (FPL average 43) Total points: 403, Overall Rank: 473k, red arrow: 119k  Team Value: £101.4m

A tough GW6 for me with a megre 42 points tally. Weirdly all midfielders returned, but none of the defenders or forwards, including my captain Ronaldo.

Going into GW7 the plan was always to remove Jota and upgrade in defence. I really like the look and fixtures of Saka and ESR. It would be very handy to go cheaper to allow defensive upgrades, however I prefer Saka at this moment, so I will go with him. As for the defence, I am still not too clear on which of my cheap defenders to upgrade. Neither I am clear on who to bring as replacement.

Chelsea is the defence to target this week but the situation is not very clear as for who to pick in there. I am thinking to go Christensen, who is the cheapest and has been getting good minutes. And given the TAA injury, I’m going to remove him this week, with an open eye for his return in a few gameweeks. Before that, I’ll most likely want Cancelo next week, for which I will have money in the bank.

So summary, likely Jota and TAA out for Saka and Christensen. Captain Ronaldo.

good luck all

Transfer summary: Likely Jota and Alexander Arnold out for Saka and Christensen.
