Introduction

It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends. However the FFGeek team and the Contributor tracker team mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make transfers as articles are posted. So you’re always up to date and live

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 5 seasons ORs were 1k, 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW7 Points: 45  (FPL average 38) Total points: 489, Overall Rank: 27k, red arrow: 1k  Team Value: £102.0m

Not only was GW7 a week to forget, but we’ve also had a further two weeks to consider exactly how forgettable it was.

As Salah’s double-figure haul wasn’t of benefit to non-captainers, the only players that returned for me were Sanchez and White in their 0-0 thriller. The now-staple debate regarding number of premiums vs. team balance proved moot once again, as returns were infuriatingly hard to come by no matter the set up. In the end, despite scratching around for minimal points, I only suffered an inconsequential rank drop of 800. That says it all, really.

Transfer

I’d like to tell you that I’ve spent the eons since GW7 formulating a masterplan, but I’m happy enough with my GW8 team and I’m hoping to sit-tight and do nothing. Admittedly, I’d feel better with some Man City representation, but I feel I have most other bases covered and – with no cash in the bank – there’s little of worth I can do with a single transfer amongst all this uncertainly. I’m far better rolling so I have more options next week.

With Rudiger now confirmed out there’s a slim chance I may buckle and make a transfer, as my bench is looking light after Williams missed the last match, but as of right now I’m sticking to my guns and hoping everyone else plays. If Rudiger is back next week, I’ll regret wasting those valuable transfers.

Captain

Salah captain. Lukaku vice.

Chris Tucker

Chris’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 249k, 41k, 17k and 1k

GW7 Points: 36  (FPL average 38) Total points: 468, Overall Rank: 155k, red arrow: 69k  Team Value: £101.1m

Chris has activated his wildcard this week

I’m on a wildcard and have a core of players that will highly likely make the final cut. They are: Ramsdale, Foster, Alexander-Arnold, Cancelo, Rudiger (subject to any suggestion by Tuchel that his injury is serious), Salah, Raphinha (a must even if he misses this GW), Smith-Rowe, a £4.5ish midfield cheapie, Antonio and Lukaku.

I think the only questionable selection is Smith-Rowe. I do prefer Mbeumo but I am prepared to wait until Brentford’s fixtures improve in GW10 and in the meantime attempt to capitalise on Arsenal’s games against Palace and Villa, both at home.

After that comes the tricky part. Really it’s a question of where I want to invest the funds: defence, midfield or attack. My preferred options are Dias, Foden and Jiminez, but I’ll only be able to afford two out of the three. I like the idea of a triple up on City with Cancelo, Dias and Foden (this would mean Hwang in attack) but it is certainly high risk and, what with the doubts about Rudiger and Raphinha, could easily lead to not being able to field a full eleven – a disaster on a wildcard. Dias and Jimenez are probably the safer picks, with say Mbeumo in midfield, but that just doesn’t feel as exciting.

So much to ponder before the deadline. Hopefully the press conferences can give some more clarity.

Captain will certainly be Salah.

Best of luck to you all.
