Introduction

This is part 1 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more.  The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change.  Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed

Rick Porter

Rick’s last 4 seasons overall ranks were 29k, 1k, 30k and 2k.

GW32 points: 59 after Wednesday  (FPL average 39) Total points: 2,155, Overall Rank: 1k, no rank movement,  Team Value: £105.2m

GW32

I have no idea how the week is going to turn out at this point but, as this gameweek bleeds straight into the next, there’s not going to be much time to put any concrete plans in place until the last moment. Especially as we are waiting on injury news for some key players. I’m currently faring okay and facing an inconsequentially small red arrow, but there’s still a match left to play and the ownerships of both Vardy and Iheanacho are a real worry.

What next?

What I do for GW33 is going to be led by injury news. My bench is already full of blanks and with Raphinha injured I’ll need my transfer just to stand a chance of fielding 11. I also have the likely DGW35 to consider.

Kane’s injury is important. His live ownership is huge, has great fixtures until the end of the season, and is a captain shout most weeks. If fit, he’s too dangerous not to own. If injured, he’s a waste of valuable cash that could really benefit my team. Some clear and concise news about his return would be very useful.

Transfer

If we hear that Kane’s likely to be out for any serious period of time then he’s an easy sell for either Vardy, Iheanacho, Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin. All could play twice in GW35 and they free up varying levels of cash. Certainly enough to get hold of hot assets like Trent and Jota if I wanted – or I could move on players like Zaha and Digne to further bolster my potential DGW players.

More likely is we get a vague update that leaves us none the wiser. In this case there are harder decisions to make. I could risk dropping him anyway, but I’ll be 0.3 short on bringing him back in should he recover in time for GW34. I could just switch Dias to someone far cheaper (to open up some options and give me a player on the bench if Raphinha doesn’t recover) or Digne (for the extra potential double player with attacking threat).

My thinking at the moment is I’ll do Kane to Vardy/Iheanacho and then also Dias to Shaw for a -4. I’ll just accept that if Kane is fit then my next transfer has to be used to bring him back in. This plan costs me 4 points (and may force a future transfer) but it gives me bench options for the coming week, money in the bank to spend elsewhere if Kane doesn’t bounce back, and just enough to get him back in the team for the Sheffield match if he does.

Of course, everything depends on the news we get over the next day or so.

Captain

Salah captain, Bruno vice.

Transfer summary: Likely Kane to Vardy and Dias to Shaw

Looking ahead to gameweek 33 I have one free transfer and 0m itb. With eleven players with games I could just roll the transfer but I’ll be lucky for all eleven to play. Any transfer will have half an eye on the potential double gameweek 35 – I was hoping it would be announced this week but the premier league have been somewhat distracted.

If Kane is definitely injured long term (unlikely it will be announced) a switch to either DCL or Vardy. I’ll keep an eye out for any other potential long term injuries, notably Lingard who hobbled off in the last game. If not I’ll probably switch Dias to Castagne, with a focus on Leicester’s good short term fixtures and likely double in 35. An alternative is a second Brighton defender vs Sheffield United.

My selection headache in the scenario I have 12 players is Rudiger vs Holding. I’m not sure I want double Chelsea defence vs West Ham.

Captain Salah and vice Fernandes.

Transfer summary: To be confirmed

Avishek Majumdar

Avishek’s last 3 seasons are 13k, 45k and 64k

GW32 points: 71 on triple captain after Wednesday    (FPL average 39) Total points: 2,045, Overall Rank: 65k, green arrow 21k,  Team Value: £104.8m

GW 33 team

2 FTs and 0.9 ITB.

Planning to get Alexander Arnold by upgrading Phillips, but still debating whether to downgrade Son or Bruno to Greenwood. Son has a great fixture in 34 while Bruno still seems to be template. If Greenwood comes in for Son, I will have to decide to bench one of Holding and Vydra. I am inclined to play Vydra and I hope his benching against United was tactical and he starts again vs Wolves.
Captaincy is on Salah and will most likely stay.
Cheers and good luck!

transfer summary: Likely Son/Fernandes out for Greenwood in and Phillips out Alexander Arnold in
