Introduction
This is part 1 of the FPL managers who contribute to the FFGeek site with good histories who show their teams each week. This will give people a feel for what other managers are doing. It’s a fairly informal thing with no obligation on anyone and these teams may change at anytime before the deadline without further notice. It won’t cover transfers in real time either. It’s just to give an idea of the trends for the week no more. The teams are shown as their “final-ish” teams so they could change. Where they have twitter accounts I have shown this and they may update them there or on our Slack Channel which is part of our subscription Patreon site but this is not guaranteed
Andrew Whitfield

Gameweek 37 summary:
Well as we close in on the end of a strange season, it was great to see the return of fans to our stadiums. The title may be wrapped up and the relegation places sealed, but the race for the European places is going to the wire.
The big FPL captain decision that looked set to potentially define the gameweek proved irrelevant as it ended Bruno 4 Salah 3 Kane 2. The big question of the week was did Bruno get a touch or not !! All the four most popular Jota replacements blanked too. Champions Man City lost at Brighton, and Chelsea gained FA cup final revenge on Leicester. Popular strikers Bamford, Watkins and Antonio came good at one end, as Robertson, Phillips and Rudiger hauled at the other.
My GW37 score and rank:
48 points. 5/11 returners with none in double figures. My week was rescued from the mud with a very late Lingard to Antonio goal in the final game !! Other returns from Dallas, Trent Alexander Arnold and Fernandes. The big disappointments were Shaw and Calvert Lewin who both promised so much this week and delivered so little.
I escaped with a small red arrow, down from 33k to 35k. My slide continues from the heady heights of 13k in GW29 with nine gameweeks to play. But still top 0.5% is not to be sniffed at. A lot of seasoned managers have struggled this season. So it looks like being good rather than great. Let’s attack the last week and see what happens.
My GW37 talking points:
The big captain debate that had dominated the build up to the week and looked set to define the gameweek proved to be irrelevant as Salah, Fernandes and Kane all surprisingly came up short in great looking fixtures !! Salah could have had a hat trick as he spurned a host of chances which could have put a big stamp on my week with Bruno Fernandes and Kane having failed first. Looks like Mo Salah is saving his hat trick for the final day.
The other big call of the week was the best Jota replacement. Again the top four contenders all blanked. I went Raphinha but was relieved to see Greenwood, Harrison and Torres all fail too. Raphinha had a goal disallowed and missed a great late chance, so another “nearly”. One of many this week. Raphinha looks good v West Brom this week.
The Lingard to Antonio goal was a real life saver this week but even then, Antonio was brought down for a penalty – that Rice missed !!
I had a 50/50 call choosing Dallas over Godfrey for my 3rd defender spot, which ended 6-6. I seem destined to leave all the big Dallas hauls on my bench !! He loves to go big until I put him in my starting eleven. Maybe GW38 will be his big parting gift.
Calvert Lewin I brought in for tasty looking home games v Sheff Utd and Wolves. Everton looked completely out of sorts in both games and Calvert Lewin barely had a sniff against Wolves. Hugely disappointing.
Luke Shaw has been outstanding in recent weeks and often threatened a monster haul. This looked like it could be the week against Fulham for points at both ends. But he lost his clean sheet and blanked. I expect him to be rested this week so Luke is definitely my big nearly man these last few weeks !!
Quick question for you ?
What do Bamford, Watkins, Rudiger, Ihenacho and Gundogan have in common ? They all scored this week after I sold them in the last six weeks. And I went Trent Alexander Arnold over Phillips who also scored this week too !! Classic FPL.
So what next?:
I have one free transfer and £1.4M in the bank. I have a couple of options that I am strongly considering.
There is a strong chance that Bruno Fernandes gets rested as the final game is just three days before the Europa league final which surely takes priority with 2nd place already sealed. It’s a huge risk going against the high ownership of Bruno. But I like the idea of bringing in Mane to pair him with Salah v Crystal Palace, as Liverpool go full pelt for a top four spot !!
The other move I am contemplating is Calvert Lewin out. He has hugely disappointed over two tasty games but he has Man City away next. Bamford is fresh off a haul, plays relegated West Brom at home in front of the Elland Road crowd. It’s tempting to pair him with Raphinha. Cue a Calvert Lewin goal at Man City !!
I could do BOTH moves for a hit. If I do one move, I favour the Mane move. If I take a hit, a Calvert Lewin goal would leave Bamford needing two just to cover the hit. I already have Raphinha. But if Calvert Lewin does blank, I can see Bamford doing well. I quite like the idea of throwing triple Leeds at relegated West Brom.
My GW38 line up:
I can’t look beyond Salah for the armband, going for the golden boot v Crystal Palace. I can’t see Bruno or Kane challenging him in the polls this week.
If I do get Bamford, I can go double Liverpool attack v Crystal Palace, double Leeds attack v West Brom, double West Ham attack v Southampton, and Harry Kane going for the golden boot on his likely last game for Spurs. That’s a tempting front seven !!
Trent Alexander Arnold and Dallas have great fixtures too and love to attack. My only weak link is Shaw who is likely to miss out if saved for the Europa final. My defender cover is very thin with Veltman flagged and Godfrey playing Man City away. If only I held onto Rudiger who I sold In GW36.
I am tempted to play Areola at home to Newcastle. Martinez plays Chelsea and has one clean sheet in eleven games.
Transfer summary:
Fernandes to Mane likely
Calvert Lewin to Bamford possible.
Captain will be Salah.
And finally:
This is my final article of the season. I have enjoyed writing them and I hope you enjoyed reading them. I wish you and your families a safe, healthy and happy summer. Enjoy the Euros. Learn from your mistakes and come back refreshed and ready to smash it in August !!!

So we’re here. Last GW of the season. Lets hope for a final green arrow.
GW37 Review
What felt like a horrendous gameweek ended up in just a small red arrow (18.0k>19.2k). This could have been much worse had it not been for the last minute Antonio goal (assisted by Lingard) and Rudiger’s goal. Plus after captain Kane’s blank it was a relief to see Salah stay quiet too.
GW38 Preview
1FT and not too much confidence in the team. Kane/Son vs Leicester who need the points to have any chance of the top 4 is not an area I have faith in. Greenwood and Stones may not even play, Calvert-Lewin is out of form vs City and Martinez plays Chelsea on the back of Villa’s poor defensive form.
My likely move is to swap Smith Rowe to Raphinha or Harrison. This gives me a Leeds attacker vs West Brom at home where I expect them to put on a good performance in front of their fans. It means benching Calvert Lewin. I may do Calvert Lewin to Bamford instead but given my rotation risks I’d rather have a strong bench and Calvert Lewin we at least know will play. Captain is an easy one and will be going Salah.
Transfer Summary: Will be made Sunday so likely Smith Rowe being Raphina/Harrison in the below

GW 37 Review
It was a GW of two halves. Tuesday started well with Rudiger (9) scoring, Nacho (6) coming off the bench to score and Dallas (5) keeping a clean sheet.
Wednesday was a huge disappointment. My big guns of Kane, Son, Calvert Lewin and Mo Salah © all blanked. Trent Alexander Arnold (6) contributed a clean sheet and could have provided much more. Lingard (7) provided a late consolation assist.
47 points and my run of 5 consecutive green arrows came to an end. I am now at 87K and my target is to finish in the top 1%
GW 38 preview
Calvert Lewin has not been on form lately and playing at Man City isn’t ideal, though it’s not clear how strong a team Pep will play.
Leeds finish their outstanding season at Elland Road in front of their fans against relegated WBA. I can see them putting on a show. Bamford is in great form.
Predicted Transfer
Calvert Lewin -> Bamford
Alternative option is Antonio who is hoping to become the club’s record goal scorer. He is likely to be on penalties too. West Ham will be fired up as they have strong possibility of winning a Europa League place.
Captaincy
Liverpool are in red hot form and face a soon to be managerless Palace in front of their own fans at Anfield. They are chasing a Champions League place. Mo Salah is chasing the Golden Boot. The stars line up.
Mo Salah ©
Transfer summary: likely Calvert Lewin to Bamford

16/37 red arrow weeks this season so far. Down to 177k one of my worst finishes ever in arguably (thinking) back one of the easiest seasons to finish in the top 20k- it was surely a template season and if you stuck with it you are near that mark. On the other hand managers such as my self who love a punt find our selves having a bad year.
Everton. They were my last chance in getting a top100k rank as they had West Ham, Villa, Sheffield and Wolves in their 3 last games. I doubled up on both attackers and got the minimum of 1 goal apiece.
Last gameweek of the season (finally 🤣) where even “play it safe” managers take a punt so I couldn’t miss out. First one in is Antonio for Calvert Lewin, during his post match interview he said that he will try and beat his last season tally- that means scoring 3 goals!
Second was Greenwood out and Harrison in. I think Leeds will smash it playing in front of their fans and so I tripled on Raphinha, Dallas and Harrison as a differential!
I also needed to triple on Liverpool and I did not want the double in defence as if they concede early on it ruins your week. The road to Mane was via Son and this meant I had to keep Richarlison so I went Richarlison to Firmino instead !
Hopefully I have a good week, not for the OR as it don’t matter if you finish 100k or 200k in my opinion but to have the thrill of having a good GW and to maybe have the chance to steal a few mini leagues I am 20ish points behind (now 28ish with the hit)
Captaincy will be on salah! Good luck everyone and dont forget to always enjoy the game no matter what as its still a game!!!
Transfer summary: Calvert Lewin out Antonio in and Richarlison out and Firmino in
